tl;dr - a phenomenal, relatively unknown resort with fantastic runs and facilities. A big shout out to Maxime, Laurielle and Thérèse for superb customer service / being absolutely brilliant for our rentals ☺️👍
Full review: We stayed in the village, rather than at the resort / Club Med. It's a little further away but no hassle. Just a short drive (or 30 minute walk) to "Le Massif" next to "Grande Point" on Google Maps. Do not try to walk through Club Med!
If the "Billeterie" (Ticket Office) is open at the bottom, great! If not, turn right and walk over the bridge to the Gondola. The staff were happy to let us on the Gondola to buy our tickets at the summit. The ticket office at the summit is just opposite the gondola (short walk - slightly left).
Ski/Snowboard Rentals - and facilities, food etc. are all at the top. The rental team were absolutely brilliant. So helpful, they took time to understand exactly what I needed (I'm awkward) and were also happy to change things around/out to make everything perfect. Genuinely, their first-class, personalised service deserves 10/10. I was even given a refund after we had to leave a day early.
On the skiing, the runs were well groomed, with considerate skiers and snowboarders. There are a good mix of difficulties - with something for almost everyone - except the most extreme (think double/triple diamond blacks).
Genuinely, the resort deserves more British visitors as it's a real...
Read moreAmazing hill! A few parking lots at the bottom or top of the hill, if you're a group, try to park together in case you split up later.
I'm an intermediate snowboarder and was unsure how the hill would be for me, we went on a Friday, it had just snowed a little (5mm). The snow was great! I suspect due to its location the snow is nice most of the year unlike some other granular surfaces. Not many ice patches.
The lifts are pretty quick! The gondola is nice to keep you warm on the way up.
It was a cold - 15/20C day, had to take breaks and stop mid way on the way down because ooooff that cold wind. Dress accordingly!
A great east coast hill, though $$
Negatives: The greens aren't good though, not a low steady descent. More of a fast, flat, fast, flat. Beautiful view as well!
Website is beyond terrible. Wouldn't accept my address. I've shared the feedback to the dev team, the front counter person also mentioned she agrees and has heard this herself. It was a slower day so only 1 person was available at the counter inside the chalet to buy hand warmers (toe warmers were out at the bottom chalet) and to buy ski lift tickets.
That top little peak doesn't seem all that useful (with the T bars). I heard it used to be...
Read moreThis is my favorite ski hill in Quebec. I liked: amazing view of the st Lawrence; 770m vertical drop (highest east of the Rockies, great runs that have a good flow , everything is rather new, no slow chairs, good grooming team, great lifties making sure chairs go up full, good après ski at the pub at the top.
What is didn’t like is that there is no hotel on the mountain. We stayed at le germain in baie St. Paul (really good place) but it is a 25m drive to the hill.
Also they have discounts for pass holders of other mountains but no mention on website. Found this out at the hill when it was too late.
For the food at the top cafeteria: they boast having no fried foods and junk... but in exchange you get overcooked vegetables, dry meat (pork brochette)... the other choices are salmon cakes, duck confit, pasta, pizza and a few vegetarian options. The food reminded me of an upscale version of a school cafeteria at best.
At the pub there is no kitchen, so all you get is chips, salsa, giant pretzel, pate plates, cheese plates. Nothing warm..
So overall love the skiing but the food could be improved with an à la carte restaurant, and some pub...
