The Pitt Meadows trail system offers 25.6 km of scenic pathways along the Pitt River and Fraser River, perfect for cycling, walking, and birdwatching. The flat, well-maintained dyke trails provide stunning sunrise and sunset views, making it a peaceful escape into nature. One of my favourite places to appreciate this wonderful and unique region. I’ve done many walks here with my family over the decades and seasons.
This trail connects Pitt Meadows and Maple Ridge, with views of Port Coquitlam and Fort Langley along the way. You’ll pass through rural farmland, wetlands, and riverfront landscapes, with plenty of opportunities to spot hawks, herons, migrating birds, and even the occasional bear, beaver or coyote.
Whether you’re looking for a relaxing ride, a long-distance run, or a scenic stroll, this trail offers beautiful natural surroundings and a chance to experience the region’s wildlife. It also links to other trail networks, making it a great starting point for further exploration.
