Beautiful falls a short drive from Gatineau-Ottawa. It is pretty rustic, and you basically walk 1 kilometer down a gravel road and trails, and then back up. Go directly to lookout #4 as it offers the best view by far. Overall it's in a pretty bad state of disrepair, with sketchy stairs and picnic tables on the verge of collapse. Many vantage points are overgrown and in need of a trim. Not really suitable for small kids, and definitely not for people with mobility issues. Note that this is not free and is operated by a not for profit organization, though it is slated to become part of the Parc Nationale de Plaisance at some point. Admission is $7 for adults, but it works on a honour system and I observed many people opting not to pay. Not cool. Worth the drive. One hour is plenty to see everything.

Best place and must visit beyond words. such great waterfall. parking is free but you have to pay $8/person (debt/credit/cash)to access waterfall. the shop to pay had soveiners and maps of trails if one intrested. trail is bit rough(for elderly) but nice broadwalk for the waterfall views. if you follow along the water the sounds demishes further and the water is calm where many ppl were fishing and further ahead ppl were kayaking and canoeing. trail is good with some good views of falls. must visit. 15min drive (20km) from fairmount/museum/information center. but if ur visiting any of this places don't miss out this waterfall...

We visited on a Sunday afternoon in early December hence there was no one at the entrance. It did say there was an entrance fee. There were fairly amount of safety posts in the area. It is mostly a flat trail with gravel. There are ample picnic tables if you wish to take a snack, just remember to take your trash with you. Only takes a couple of minutes from parking to get to the main falls. The viewing podiums looked sturdy and safe and have the best angles to take in the beautiful scenery. A must visit during your montreal-ottawa trip.

It's a beautiful short hike. Waterfall looks amazing, and there are multiple viewing platforms along with picnic areas. Make sure to cover all the spots. I saw some people fishing, too. Parking is available free of cost. However, I felt the entry fee of $8 per person is a bit too much. They closed the ticketing booth at 6:30p.m. (30 minutes before closing time), and there were people who entered without paying any entry fee. Also note, there are no proper toilets, they kept few portable toilets but they were locked.

Chute de Plaisance in winter is a breathtaking natural wonder. The frozen waterfall stands like a magnificent crystal masterpiece, shimmering under the soft winter light. The sight of the cascading ice formations is both serene and powerful, a testament to nature’s artistry. The peaceful surroundings, blanketed in snow, make it a perfect spot for a winter adventure. A visit here offers a magical escape, where time seems to stand still amidst the beauty of the frozen falls.

The park itself is pretty small. There is only one trail, which is about 1km. The chute is beautiful, but that's about it. Some people bring their kayaks and fishing poles, but you have to go to the end of the trail for these activities. The river outside the entry of the park is a lot of fun. Even though there are signs of "baignade interdite" (no swming), there are still some people swimming. Our kids loved jumping from rock to rock and treading water by the bank.
