July 2025 5* ——————
Visited the beach after a gap of 3 years. Earlier you could take your vehicle on the beach. Now you need to park it outside before entering beach area. There are two parking area:
Zone 1 - next to beach gate. You need to book in advance. The day pass can cost you $57 but this is very convenient as you can get guaranteed spot. You need to pay with HONK parking.
Zone 2 - Newly built parking area and you can pay on hourly basis. This is open parking so you can not reserve it in advance. You should either visit early or late as you can find space.
Good thing is that there are many washroom at the beach now. The washrooms are clean and well maintained. There is accessible walking path on the beach.
There is Splash Town, water sports activities so you need to go with boat. They charge $27 for 2 hours and $30 for full day.
The only disappointment was that there is seaweed on the beach. Last time it was very clean.

This is our first visit to Nikel Beach and I am already planning to visit again. The most important thing, Reservation is must specially on weekend. You will not get entry otherwise. Will cost around $50 per car.
The beach is super clean and water is clean. Best sand (white) I saw in Ontario. You can enjoy swimming and water support with kids.
Make sure to carry your tent and umbrella as there is no natural shading. You need to have some space.
There is permanent toilet on the beach but have installed porta toilets. I did not use them so not sure if it was clean.
The sand dune can be high for car at certain point and your vehicle can stuck if it is not 4X4. Don’t get panic and feel free to ask help or remove little bit sand before...
Read moreYesterday my family and I decided to spend the day at Nickel Beach, which stands out from other beaches in the region with its exceptionally clean washroom facilities, a notable convenience for visitors. Accessible (handicap) parking is available near the entrance at a flat rate of approximately $35 for the day, while regular Zone 1 parking costs a flat rate of $56.85 per day. Note that vehicles can no longer drive onto the beach itself.
Although tents are prohibited, even those without pegs, you can use beach umbrellas up to 10ft in size. Beach chairs are available for rent, which is a useful option for those who prefer not to bring their own.
Despite these positives, the beach’s value is somewhat diminished by the algae and seaweed issues. Recent storms have exacerbated this problem, and there was a notable amount of seaweed on the shoreline even in recent reviews from three weeks ago. Given the high parking fees, it would be reasonable to expect more frequent maintenance.
In contrast, Crystal Beach, which is nearby, offers a per-person fee but consistently presents a clean and well-maintained environment. It also features a small playground, modern changing rooms, and is conveniently close to restaurants. For a more enjoyable beach experience, Crystal Beach might be a better option.

Read moreThis is our second visit and we're still very happy with this beach. More details/info below, but there is 1 thing this beach does not get right.
These are they dirtiest Port-a-Potties & Washroom Facilities we've ever been too. Both men and wmns were gross. I won't mention what was on the floor durring our past visits. Let's just say I would most likely burn my flip flops if I ever walked into these washrooms wearing them. We went to a local Tim Hortons and made sure to purchase snacks while there. Very nice staff there.
