Sylvan Glen Conservation Area — Attraction in Port Hope

If its your first time like it was mine, where you park there seems to be a trail heading south. At first its okay but soon turns into what looks like atv trails and is all mud ridden. You will also start passing no trespassing signs. Very confusing as its a conservation for the public but all you see are no trespassing signs and atvs using the trails. Id advised parking in the location and walking north on the road over the bridge and youll see a small trail entrance to the left with white painted markers in trees. That is what i believe is the correct trail for the pubic and no motorized vehicles use....

It was a good hike there are alot of mosquitoes tho just a warning! Also there are two sides to this trail and the trail to the left of the little parking lot YOU WILL BE ON PRIVATE PROPERTY half way through the walk , we only found this out when confronted by one of the owners who thankfully understood we had no idea but I feel the need to let it be known that it is private...

It was a good break out of the city. However we won’t re-visit it again. Only the first 500meters were well maintained. The further you hike, the footpaths weren’t well-maintained at all. The weeds were overgrown and some areas were quite slippery. Basically this is an ATV trial or great for mountain biking. Not...
