Mowat Bay Park — Attraction in Powell River

We mainly use this area for the boat launch as in the summer the beach gets ridiculously busy, which is fine if that is something you can handle. They do have washrooms and a playground and roped off swimming area here so it's great for families with yougins. The boat ramp could really stand to have a light installed at the road end if the dock and some kind of marker on the breakwater log, cause when you come In late at night in a boat, you can't see anything. It would make the parking lot much safer and not so much of a teen hangout...

What a beautiful spot for swimming! Water was refreshingly cold the first time we swam there, pleasantly cool the second time. As a visitor from Manitoba, the scenery was spectacular - from the trees to the mountains in the distance to watching people jump from the rock ledge. It wasn't crowded either time we visited and the water is crystal clear - you don't see that as often in Manitoba. Change rooms/restrooms on site made it easy to dry off after our swim. Decent trail once you find the entrance. Google Maps sent us down a private industrial road closed to the public Monday through Friday 5:30 AM to 5:30 PM! Luckily we went on a Saturday.

Well marked EXCEPT for the small trail going down to Mowat Bay itself. At one point you come to a T with no further directions or markers.We found many other better trails in the area and would...
