In the mid-1980s, Parks Canada sponsored an underwater archaeology project to recover the French frigate Le Machault, which was scuttled there in 1760 when it encountered a Royal Navy squadron of superior force. Secrions if Marchault, including its rudder, stem, main mast step and bilge pump, and a gun port were excavated and put on display. The ship's cargo was well preserved and is also on display. There's a great map of the Acadian deportation for sale there for only 20$!! You even get to play with a little canon outside.
