Kerry Wood Nature Centre — Attraction in Red Deer

We have been to the nature centre several times and each time we have found it a wonderful place for walking and bird watching. However we were there yesterday and for the first time visited the indoor facilities. We were very impressed. The walk through nature centre was very interesting for adults and children, and very informative about animals, birds, and their habitats. It was so nice to have the comfortable settees, and even a piano which anyone could play. The washrooms were very clean and how lovely to have a painting of deer on the doors. The gift shop had a wonderful selection of gifts for children and adults, and the staff were pleasant and helpful, and told us about the different walks at the back of the facilities. A library a great place to gold meeting a great stretch of 4km trails that also interconnect with others into the city. There are benches are garbages and blinds along the way to stop and admire the gate lakes sanctuary and over the bluff.. Concession and great outdoors Park for kids. I love it here! I love taking the kids to the park and letting them play and make music, and climb trees and get back to nature. I also enjoy walking the 4km loop around the lakes. It’s so nice to have a place like this in the city. When you get way back in the trees on the hill you can hardly hear any traffic, and you get that wilderness feeling, it’s wonderful. I’ve had my child in preschool here and she loved it. She also attended a few of the “Schools Out” day camps and always has a blast and comes home so tired, because they played outside and...
