Oakview Terrace, but especially their venue manager May, was fantastic to work with. I'm so, so happy that this venue was available for my wedding day. We had a very late-winter, early-spring wedding in mid-late April 2025. May is really sweet, kind, and understanding. The day wouldn't have gone so well if it was anybody else.

We thought the venue itself was beautiful, so we went with minimal decor. The chapel is gorgeous with full wood and natural light. I will say that the chapel was really cold on the wedding day and there is no heating provided. The only warmth you can get is from closing the windows, but that really lessens the natural light. However, if you're able to handle the cold or if you have a wedding that's not winter adjacent, it really is such a beautiful space and I highly recommend it.

We paid extra to have our tea ceremony at the venue, but the convenience and having May help run the show (with an assistant - thank you for exchanging all the tea cups!) was worth the price. May asked if we had any special requests for the type of tea, but we wanted to leave it to the professional. We were told that the tea she made us was really sweet, just like the couple being married, and that it was a special recipe that has been passed down to her.

We had a traditional 12 course Chinese banquet. May told us that they have a special team that is brought in for the Chinese style meals, and they really are top notch. My guests were gushing about the food but especially the steamed fish and the beef with fresh vegetables. May ensured us that everything, like all the crab, seafood, and vegetables, are bought in the morning to ensure freshness. All the food was delicious, and my husband really loved the dessert that is made in house. May was very attentive during the dinner service for the sweetheart table. The menu was flexible to tailor to our tastes, and additonally, May was super understanding about our budget until the end. However, we paid extra for a menu tasting (as we never actually eaten at the venue before and wanted to ease our minds), but it was so worth it because it was delicious and we got to keep the leftovers. A very big shout out to the bartenders; my guests thought you were hilarious. The service was fast and efficient. Those with allergies or special requests were accommodated with grace, even if they were last minute. Honestly, the food was so, so good. May was very flexible and helpful when it came to the seating plans.

Brides should keep in mind that there is a bridal suite in the basement, but there is no natural lighting. There is a getting ready station with a mirror and lights, but there is only room for one person to be worked on. My bridesmaids and the mothers had to all take turns, as my makeup artists believed wasn't enough lighting in the bridal suite to have everyone be worked on simultaneously. We had 3 make up artists working on three clients (total 6 people) at one time in the space outside of the bridal suite and it was a little cramped.

The sound system in the reception hall worked great for our purposes, as did the system in the chapel. The party lights were worth it, so we could dance the night away. We were offered some extras for the decor (like easels) but we had already bought one for ourselves, but do know that you should ask what they have!

They even let us keep our cars in the parking lot overnight because we were able to get a ride from our wedding party. There were no additonal costs that popped up, nor any surprise charges, for anything. Everything was as agreed upon since the beginning. While this venue isn't full service (such as decor or florals), it's pretty darn close.

I highly recommend anyone who wants an all-in-one venue to check out Oakview Terrace. We loved that we could have the ceremony and the reception all in one place. May is a pleasure to work with and she works really hard to make sure you have a sweet...

We booked Oakview terrace chapel for our wedding ceremony and initially was so impressed with how beautiful the venue was and how amazing the customer service was. However, day of our ceremony, we were so disappointed with Oakview's services due to a multitude of reasons. First of all, when it came to the final bill, automatic gratuity was applied which was never discussed in our contract (and the gratuity was applied to the final costs including tax which made the gratuity higher). Secondly, there were issues with the chapel itself. It rained on the day of our ceremony, and we were told it would not be an issue as the ceremony was going to be inside. However, when we arrived to the venue, all the chapel seats were wet due to leaks in the roof and the groomsmen had to clean it as they could not find any staff on site. We understand its an older building, however, it was clearly not maintained as the pews were splintering and uneven, the roof had leaks, the light bulbs were very dim and there were cob webs and dust everywhere. In addition, we paid extra for use of the mics connected to the audio system, but it did not work on the day of. Additionally, we told Oakview ahead of time when our decor team was coming, but day of, Oakview had locked the doors of the chapel and were not present to let in the decor team which delayed the decor team by over an hour. Nothing was set up that was promised would be (such as easels for our wedding sign), and no staff were present to help us when we came resulting in last minute rushes by our wedding party to finish setting up when the guests were already arriving. The biggest complaint we have is how our assigned day of coordinator ruined our ceremony. We had a song that our wedding party practiced walking down to, which I had meticulously timed out. However, when it came down for me (the bride) to walk down the aisle, our day of coordinator from Oakview refused to let me in saying "there is another song" for me to walk down to, which I kept insisting there wasn't because I planned it and only planned for one song. She refused to open the chapel doors even after getting the cues from the bridal party inside the chapel to let me in. This resulted in a very awkward 2min and 30 second gap of everyone standing and waiting for me to be let in, with even some concerns from some guests that I eloped as I was not coming in (as I was not allowed to enter) and a huge confusion for our friend helping us control the music. This for me was a huge disappointment as it was always my dream to walk down the aisle with my father to that specific song I planned, but because the coordinator wouldn't let me in, I was unable to walk to the song that I wanted to. The entire time we were there, all the staff were so preoccupied planning the next day event and were unhelpful to our event that day, such as not being present to help us with our event when we arrived due to setting up the next day event, even though we paid a lot of money with gratuity already included. We also paid extra for champagne service, and when it came to that, the bartender was not helpful. We saw a bottle of champagne on the bar and when we asked the bartender if it was for us, he did not respond and completely ignored us, and turned his back to us to continue cleaning glasses. The only good thing that came out of choosing Oakview was the beauty of the grounds, but the service was very...

My husband and I recently had our wedding here which included (ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception). About 80 people in attendance. We had to postpone due to Covid in the spring, and Oakview accommodated us to move our date without any extra fee. We had originally had two taste testing's about a year apart and they were very similar in taste. Unfortunately, our wedding planner cancelled on us within the last few weeks. The Oakview Terrace Manager May, helped out as much as she could during the event and it was greatly appreciated.

The ceremony in the wooden chapel was nice, clean, and elegant. The windows and sides were open which provided fresh air and natural light. Our Dj was able to play music from the side easily and was able to see the procession. It seated everyone and had room to spare which is nice for people who are still wary of covid.

The cocktail hour was held outside just beside the main reception building. The drinks and food were surprisingly good. There were 2 kinds of non-alcoholic punch, 2x types of beer, and a cider to choose from. The cider and punch were very good. The finger foods were tempura shrimp, spring rolls, and various types of chicken and beef. Our Dj was able to bring a few of his big speakers to the top of the balcony for the music which worked out perfectly.

The reception was no different and went smoothly. Guests liked the food which was an option of Steak or Chicken for the main with (California green mix, butternut squash soup, and apple blossom). We highly recommend this specific soup and dessert as it exceeded our expectations. The servers did an adequate job and were courteous to guests and had masks on the entire event. Everyone was having such a great time that even some of the staff joined in at the end on the dance floor. We chose the host bar which was a perfect option for our guests, and we only went over the minimum spend slightly. All the screens worked for our slideshow and the updated lights, floor, and paint really made it that much nicer.

Overall, we could not be more happy with how things turned out, and it was our dream wedding come true. We liked having the entire venue to ourselves and it being secluded from the public. Some communication throughout the process could have been slightly better but wasn't unexpected due to the pandemic and our long timeline. We would not hesitate to use this venue again to host any special occasion or...

I would recommend this venue, and May, to everyone.
