I’m a photographer with a local media team so please keep in mind that my comments are based on my experience as a photographer.

Parking: Lots of parking, easy to find, both gravel and cement spots available when I arrived at 8:30am.

Exterior: Beautiful building, beautiful colours, intricate art on the walls, a nice water fountain and an amazing city and mountain backdrop for those looking to do some aerial photo/video.

Front entrance: Decorated with potted flowers, most Milni’s are held here if not outside.

Bride’s room: By far the worst room in this building. The walls are littered with graffiti, the floor has garbage scattered all over it, the couches are old and dirty looking. I was actually surprised to see a room like this considering how much time and effort goes into beautifying and maintaining these types of buildings. It was unfortunate to see the bride waiting in a room that looked like this.

Main temple area: Beautiful, huge, colourful, high ceilings, clean and tidy.

Top floor temple area: Decent lighting, beautiful flower arrangement around the alter, light hearted decor around the room and on the ceiling, lots of nice pictures and artwork on the alter.

The elders and staff: Kind, helpful, polite. I had three people greet me and address me within the first 10 minutes of arriving. I had one elder give me info for the sound before I had to ask.

All-in-all a very nice temple. Looking forward to when they fix the brides...

Nanakshar Gurdwara in Richmond, BC is a peaceful and welcoming place for both spiritual reflection and community gatherings. The gurdwara offers a serene environment that allows visitors to connect with their faith and experience a sense of calm.

The Langar (community kitchen) is a highlight, where everyone is served delicious vegetarian meals prepared with care and devotion. The volunteers are friendly, ensuring that everyone feels included, regardless of background or beliefs. Have a huge parking lot.

The prayer hall is spacious and well-maintained, creating a perfect space for meditation and prayer. The gurbani kirtan (devotional singing) is soul-stirring and truly uplifts the spirit.

Additionally, the gurdwara often organizes community events and services, fostering a sense of togetherness and support among...

Like all other Gurudwaras, amazing views when you hear Amrit Bani and Path. The Darbar is all golden color and looks mesmerizing. The Mool Mantra written all over the upper gallery adds the devotional touch. The Langar hall is big with lots of tables and chairs. Langar is always serving and tastes the best and beats any resistant food by miles. Only thing, you can't bring the food outside the Langar hall and you are not supposed to leave food waste so make sure to fill your plate according to your hunger. Desserts are served as well. The view from outside is amassing with mountains in the back view. I absolutely loved it and will...

Peaceful place and brings lots of positive energy whenever you visit here. Langar serves meals all day and atmosphere here is very nice. Very well managed and lots of volunteers supporting the good work done by Nanaksar Sikh Temple. If you are in Vancouver, I suggest to visit here for sure and experience the warmth of Sikh culture.
