This might be a lengthy one but worth the read, I promise. However, TL;DR is The Skydive Manitoba first jump training experience was nothing short of perfection and everyone, particularly our jump instructor, Brian made this first jump unforgettable. 11/10 stars.
-keep reading if you want a little emotional journey and maybe some entertainment-
But it was so much more. Brian (with an i) was our trainer. Let me tell you why I feel like this different from probably any other experience out there.
Thank you to Skydive Manitoba for making my first jump (perhaps not my last..no promises) feel like the whole world just reset...

I have now trusted them with my life for 3 separate jumps, and am still here to tell the tale⦠(s)
I got the amazing experience of going on the Tandem jump in 2020 from 10 000 ft, and it was truly the most magical experience I had ever had. The instructors and trained jumpers are extremely kind and courteous with everyone they take up, I felt completely safe and comfortable⦠as comfortable as possible in this situation. I was very nervous (as I think anyone will be), and I will never forget the absolute freedom and joy that hit me once the door opened and we got out. Flying through the air, dropping rather, has been something Iāve looked forward to experiencing again since the moment my feet touched ground. Getting to go Tandem for my first jump allowed me to experience everything from free fall, flying the parachute, and then landing in the comfort and safety of someone else, which helped me remain more present in the moment.
It was so much more exciting, than what I had anticipated.
Iām so grateful to get to say that this august I got to experience that feeling again as I took my first solo jump, with the help and trained guidance of instructors Jay and Garth, as well as with all the support and encouragement and shared knowledge from the community and team over at Skydive Manitoba. What an amazing way to spend the day, or weekend.
The first jump went so well, I went back up for a second within the hour!
I look forward to seeing them again and continuing to learn from some of the best in the game⦠and honestly⦠if you read this damn far⦠I look forward to seeing you there too šš
Absolutely amazing experience, 12/10 do recommend, would go back, (have gone back), will...
Ā Ā Ā Read more"NEARLY DIED. First time solo jump and my parachute didn't open. Then the reserve chute lines wrapped around my neck, felt like my neck snapped and strangled me. I lost consciousness and awoke with just enough time to turn a little to avoid some trees and land in a field. It was an absolutely horrifying experience. A good business would show some care and compassion to their first time jumper that nearly died on their watch. They didn't send a get well card or flowers; offer a refund for my gruesome jump experience; no regard of sympathy for my experience. But they did offer some negative thoughts; that I may have waited too long to react to no chute being there and should have used the emergency procedures sooner and that the farmer whose field that I landed in called them and was angry that my rescuers drove on their field. I am grateful to my boyfriend for buying the extra 1000 feet that likely saved my life and to Sid (my rescuer) and his friend for coming to my aid in the field and rushing me to the hospital when I was still unsure that I would survive. I will be scarred for life both physically and mentally. I wish I could say nice things; but after receiving no consideration from Skydive Manitoba after my near death experience; might I recommend a business that cares more about their patrons, their safety and satisfaction. Steinbach has a sky dive place; "Adventure Skydiving". Please look them up and consider using them for your jump. I am positive that they would show more humanity than Skydive Manitoba did to me; can't be any worse. Also, they keep your video on hand if you don't purchase it for 2 years; in case you change your mind. I requested my video from Skydive Manitoba and haven't received a copy to date and my jump was...
