Overall a great experience for our first time camping. Great weather, barely any bugs, the campsite was clean, firewood available in our spot when we pulled up and lots more available close by for free. Our site had no amenities like water or electricity but other bays do, just plan accordingly. Toilets were clean, we didn’t use the shower so can’t comment on that. Fellow campers seemed to respect the quiet rule starting at 11pm most of the time, but there were a few instances where things got pretty loud and didn’t seem to be enforced (who brings a keyboard to a campsite?!) but we were still able to get some rest. Beach is close by (1 min drive either way) and was clean and quiet when we went. Riding mountain north entrance is about 30 mins away, Clear Lake specifically is about an hour.
The only reason I am removing 1 star is that the campsite itself is fairly close to the hwy (we were in bay 2 site 23, which is closer than others) so we did hear a fair amount of road noise throughout the night and early morning, which a tent doesn’t really help reduce. Also for checkin when we arrived an hour late due to vehicle issues there was no one around and the office was closed, we weren’t really sure what to do. We called and left a msg, decided to setup anyway as we had the site reserved. We popped in the next day and it didn’t seem to be a big deal that we missed official checkin, would have been nice to list the office hours on the reservation though.

Read moreRainbow Beach Provincial Park. This place was such a nice place to come and relax and just felt very family friendly. The park is not overly big , but while walking through the bays, it just felt like it could go on forever. Very well treed in.
We stayed in bay 3, and our site was very deep and had water and electricity. Each bay had a nice set of swings and slide, along with a couple other play areas.
This place was a truly awesome place to go to. I will recommend this place 100%. We drove 3.5 hours to get there but will do it...
Read moreCampground, trails, beach, all great. Washrooms only have one shower stall is a negative but, can live with that. Zero park patrol during August long when you have a neighbor that can't talk quietly, turns up their music, chops wood, bangs the fire grate and runs the car. All between 11pm and 2am. ( Yes, I'm talking about Bay 2 site 15 ). Didn't hear anything from that site until after 10pm. Get rid of these people who think they have the right to do as they please or at least enforce your rules. 2 nights of hell doesn't inspire...
