Just East of Marchand, Manitoba, you will find the Marchand Ranger Station and the trail heads to some great hiking trails. Parking is available just off the road or in the park. Great place to hike in September and October. Most of the trails are well groomed; however, I noticed some trails were not freshly mowed or used. Specifically parts of the Green trail. I noticed good signage and markers for the first part of the Green trail, but then no more markers, which made one to feel that you might have taken the wrong turn. More trail markers would be suggested. Several outhouses are placed in the Green trail, one of which sported a good sized wasp nest. (Someone please remove it.) Pic is attached. The forest is lovely in it's natural state. The newer warm-up cabin is a grand addition for winter skiers. All in all, it was a very pleasant experience and I will continue to go hiking here. Skiiers are asked to pay for winter skiing as the Sandilands Cross Country Ski Club takes great care of the trails during winter months. The payments are a help to keep the forest a place for safe recreation. Happy Fall!

Great place to ATV but do NOT hike here. We did the Sandilands hiking trail and there were a ton of ticks on both us and our dog. Trail is poorly marked towards the middle where it loops but again, great for ATV and cross country skiing. Just...
