We needed a gathering spot on short notice to accommodate 25 people. Beckwith was perfect as it was on the way to the ferries. There were people of all ages, we arrived around 2pm and had no problem getting a picnic table close to the sports field. The washrooms were clean. The grass wasn't too long (we had brought a blanket and some camping chairs as well) and we had shade from a couple large trees. The splash pad was not functioning, but that did not bother us. The parking lot wasn't too busy so no problem finding parking either. The out of town guests commented that the park was very nice and a great choice for our picnic...

You can have a family picnic here as well. Bring your picnic clothes to spread on the nice green grass or use the picnic tables. Don't forget to bring snack and drinks as well. Tons of parking on the beckwith street and some 15 to 20 spots within the park entrance.
