Great place to go. You want to hang out. Have a picnic. Read a book, sit by the water and get a suntan. We'll have a bite to eat. There's a little restaurant nearby. There's the ferry which is really cool to do and a lot of sightseeing and very peaceful area. It's very nice. Very popular with motorcycles too. You see a lot there. It's a nice area in general to drive up and down, but stopping at the locks is is a treat. It's really a nice neighborhood and on a nice summer sunny day. It's a nice place to go. I would recommend it. You have nowhere else to go. Take a drive there, go check it out! It's worth it. It's fun! Bring a picnic, bring a blanket, bring a chair. There's tables all though. There's a park lot of places to walk. You could spend the whole day there. It's really nice so get up get out, go for a walk. Go see it. It's really beautiful. You won't regret it. You'll...

The last (most downstream) of the three Ottawa River Military Canals. Within the park are vestiges of the old canal, the remains of Lock No. 1 (1830-1833), the quartermaster’s store / toll collector’s house (1843), the superintendent’s house (1843), and the jetty of the second canal (1873-1882). Interpretive plaques and seasonal exhibits help explain the history of this fascinating site. Not far away are the Carillon Barracks (c.1830), which today house the Argenteuil Regional Museum. The other two canal are Chute-à-Blondeau (hard to find) and...

Very beautiful river and this is the largest water lock I've ever seen. The wait time is about an hour to fill the basin. The lift and drop is almost not noticeable while its happening as its very smooth and the dock you moor to floats up and down the walls of the locks, very cool and amazing engineering. Its something we should all see as Canadians and appreciate the heritage and efforts our forefathers and mothers had to endure to move foods to and from the ocean to our...

It was a good excursion and we enjoyed seeing the dam and the lock, which apparently is the highest lock in Canada. Good day trip and a great place to have a picnic.
