Based on my experience as a learner over the past ten years.

Advantages: Location: the closest ski resort near Montreal; Price: affordable season passes, tickets and ski lessons suited to different needs; Ski School: educational programs designed for youth, adults and seniors; Safety: well patrolled ski station with surveillance cameras and a clinic in case of injuries; Hours of Operation: day and night customer service and skiing.

Disadvantages: Language: English has been treated as an alien language, signs are French only and group lessons in English is not an option; Instructor Quality: certain instructors are simply incapable of teaching, ensuring or inspiring the learning environment; Client Behavior: some clients display risk taking behaviors which cause danger not only to themselves but also to others; Terrains: features such as moguls required to complete the level within the program are just not available throughout the season.

Suggestions: English should not be discriminated since English as a language is also a means for communication; Instructors should develop analytical skills in order to help the students to identify areas for improvement; Standard terminology should be used in teaching, as for example, "center of gravity" or "centre de gravitƩ" instead of "nombril"; Leadership skills are essential so as to guide the group in a direction towards a healthy and positive learning environment rather than a filthy and irritating gossip center where people eagerly exchange personal information of all sorts; Code of Conduct should be introduced, signs should be in both French and English if not in self-explainable graphics; Artificial structures such as moguls and ridges should be provided as part of the learning facilities.

Conclusion: Ski Mont Saint-Bruno is not merely a beginner's hill for children, but a place for all skiers who desire to learn, to practice and to advance. The quality of a ski resort is not solely based on its size, surface area, altitude or number of trails, but how you make use of it. With a humble mindset, you might discover an ideal training ground to practice your dynamic short carving turns under variety of snow conditions before facing the next challenge of off-piste...

I recently visited Ski St-Bruno with my 5-year-old toddler, and as a rusty skier myself, I couldn't have asked for a better experience. This resort is perfectly geared toward beginners, offering a welcoming environment with well-thought-out areas to ease you into skiing.

Experience. For those who have never skied or are getting back into it, there's a dedicated beginner area with helpful instructors who assess your level and provide useful exercises to build confidence. Special shout-out to Alain, who was incredibly patient and gave us great tips to improve! Once you're comfortable, you can move on to a gentle slope designed to let you practice in peace without the stress of experienced skiers speeding past. Note: If you're looking for challenging runs, I think this might not be the most thrilling option.

Cost. We found the pricing to be affordable—we paid about $150 for two of us, including ski rentals.

Rental Services. If you don’t have your own gear, they offer ski and snowboard rental services, making it easy for anyone to try out the sport without having to invest in equipment. Despite visiting during busy spring break, the rental process was smooth and efficient, which helped us get on the slopes quickly.

Parking & Accessibility. Parking is plentiful, but when the resort gets busy, be ready for a long walk to the station. There’s also a shuttle service, which can be a convenient option if you're parked far away.

Amenities & Chalet There’s a chalet with food, snacks, and full meals, so you can take a break and warm up. However, the cafeteria can get quite busy, especially during peak hours, to the point where it might be hard to find a seat.

Overall, Ski St-Bruno is a well-organized, beginner-friendly resort that makes skiing fun and accessible. Whether you're a first-timer, bringing young kids, or brushing up on your skills, this is a fantastic place to learn and enjoy the slopes in a relaxed setting. Highly recommend for families and anyone looking to ease...

Well, starting with the positive - the people here are nice and polite. I had an incident that ruined the whole experience for me but the staff tried to be nice and understanding, going to great lengths to resolve the situation. That’s why it’s a 3 and not a 1.

What happened was that when I picked my rented snowboard it was actually dirty with rusty edges. Proper maintenance hadn’t been done and that’s a disrespect to rent out such equipment. Let alone safety or joy from snowboarding when your edges are rusty (never experienced that in Europe). The dirty edges left rusty stripes on my coat which made me look as if I had dropped a pizza slice on myself or even worse … threw up. I still don’t know if they are going to come out or ai have to spend 500-600 CAD on a new one. The negotiations with customer services took nearly 2 hours out of my 4 hour ticket and rental time. Thanks to the manager I got compensated for it. However, now I don’t have a coat to wear in Montreal and will have to look for dry-cleaner’s that are open during Christmas time (I’m wondering if anybody is still working and looks like a very fun activity 😫). That definitely ruins it for me. The manager of the resort kindly promised to pay the dry-cleaner’s bill. Well, that’s really nice of him. However, it doesn’t undo the damage… All I wanted was to enjoy a day of snowboarding…

Anyways, as for the hill - if you are a beginner, you will absolutely love it. Intermediate levels - well I’m not sure, the ride down is 3 times shorter than the chair-lift, so personally I got bored after 1,5 hours. Well maybe because I had a marvellous experience in the Alps. However, the proximity to Montreal is something that attracts many. So, if you wear dark coats (lift chairs were dirty too - have black dirt marks on my backpack after snowboarding today), rent the equipment somewhere else, haven’t been anywhere big, you are a beginner and live in Montreal - that’s a great opportunity for you. Me -...

Closest hill to the city of montreal! Approx 30min towards the south shore, so it is not a big trek to get there and you can go for a half day and be back in the city shortly. Overall I would say it is a bunny hill, great for kids to learn and easy runs. There are 4 chairlifts, you can do all the runs in less than 2 hours. But I think getting a 3hour block is good enough. Compared to the Sommet hills in the Laurentides this hill is more affordable. You don’t get the ā€œup northā€ views though. You can buy 2-3-4hour block tickets. Rentals are available, but due to Covid, you need to reserve at least a week in advance. You can use the indoors to warm up (masks only), there is also a cafeteria to buy food but you can only eat outdoors. Indoor restrooms available, no locker rooms available. Leave all your belongings in your car.
