What a special place this lavender farm is! My husband and I visit Quebec annually each summer and go often to Île d’Orleans where we always stop at La Seigneurie whenever we come to this beautiful island. I highly recommend it to anyone planning a trip to Île d’Orleans. The handmade lavender products (soaps, creams, lotions, essential oil, etc) are a wonderful treat. The lavender fields are stunning and so fragrant!

The last time I was here was in the summer of 2019, before this farm started charging an admission fee to see the lavender fields. Today was the first summer we’ve been back since, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. I spent 150$ CAN buying products from the shop, and was still told we had to pay 10$ admission per person to see the lavender fields. I didn’t pay the fee to see the fields as I was shocked.

To the owners, I would like to make a helpful suggestion: if a customer spends a minimum amount of money buying products from the store (maybe $50 or $60), admission to see the lavender fields should be free. This would be a great way to encourage visitors to buy products, and visitors would feel appreciated having spent their money well by also receiving free admission to...

A truly magical garden experience

La Seigneurie de l’Île d’Orléans is one of those rare spots that feels both curated and wild in all the right ways. The admission price is on the higher end, but once you're inside, it’s clear the investment goes directly into the care and upkeep of the grounds—which are immaculate.

Each garden has its own distinct personality, from floral displays to shaded woodland paths, and the layout encourages you to slow down and explore. Plan for at least an hour to do it justice.

One of the most memorable features is the path leading right down to the fleuve, where you can sit by the surf under the trees—a quiet, almost sacred kind of access that’s hard to find elsewhere. A peaceful, inspiring excursion that’s well...

The (small) lavender field was not worth the price (even at half price) and the full garden price was too prohibitive to even consider. I was also disappointed that there was a yoga class playing music in the lavender field the entire time that we visited—not what we traveled there to see and hear. Can't recommend without changes (e.g., free entry for up to two with each product purchased; warnings about whether the field is currently in use by people who may disrupt your experience, etc.). If you want to experience nature and views, Jacques Cartier National Park has hiking, kayaking, education, and more and at a lower price.
