This place is such a gem. We spent about 3 hours in the park walking a couple of loops as we tackled the Squirrel and Heron trails that go entirely around the perimeter of the park. You go from being surrounded by trees and quiet to sections that just open up to beautiful views of the water. It was a cool way to take in nature, get some exercise, and get away from our phones. Also to note is how well-maintained the park is! No garbage on the ground and the bathrooms we stopped at were fine (stocked with TP and hand sanitizer).

One thing that made our experience special was coming across a group that was having a small community BBQ and they invited us to join before we moved on. We obviously appreciated the offer for some snacks and drinks, but always love being able to connect with locals and talk about what it’s really like to live where we’re visiting. They were such a welcoming group and we loved...

First time hiking at this nature park. We did the Seal trail, connecting to Heron trail, then looped back through Deer trail and back down Seal. With 2 boys aged 6 & 8, we did this in 2 hours. It was truly breathtaking! Seal trail leads you around the marshy areas of the park, then as you continue on to Heron, you get to see craggy sea coves with will, rocky beaches. We felt like we were on Vancouver Island!

At the southernmost point, we sat on the rocks looking out at the expanse of Fundy, with tanker ships off in the distance. As we would back, we enjoyed seeing the different beaches, sea birds and kept an eye out for seal and dolphin, which we were told sometimes make an appearance during low tide (we didn't see any that day)

We were surprised that such spectacular views and oceanside hiking was within St. John, and free, too. We will definitely be back to hike the...

The park is adorned with stunning lookout points that offer breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. Its walking trails are not only easy to navigate but also offer a delightful experience as you explore the natural beauty of the area. Additionally, the park boasts excellent picnic areas, making it the perfect spot for a leisurely lunch amidst nature.

During our visit, despite the overcast skies in the afternoon, the experience was nothing short of wonderful. A highlight was a surprise visit from a seal at the southern tip of the park, adding a touch of wildlife magic to our day. The views throughout the park are spectacular, ensuring that every moment spent here is one to remember. Whether you're a nature lover or simply looking for a peaceful escape, Irving Nature Park is definitely...

Excellent location just outside the city offers a very welcoming first impression of the area. There are multiple areas, trails and entrances so if you want to see it all, but are somewhat short on time, it's best to plan your routes. If you plan accordingly, you can also see the rise and fall of the tides. 600 acres comprising of a children's park, beach, forests, BBQ pits and picnic tables coupled with various activities throughout the year. It's a nice break from the more industrial feel of the main city area in Saint John.
