3.3 Km fine crushed gravel road loops around a small lake. Along the circuit there are mini trails that'll take you through short walks in the woods though some are very narrow and overtaken by bushes. There's no signage on these trails and you don't know what to expect until you enter (splash a lot of bug spray though). Shame these small trails are not well maintained this park could have a been a mini rockwood. On the plus side the main gravel trail is great for bikes and even strollers. A few wooden bridges and a mini waterfall add some variety to an otherwise boring trail. Park has also a small beach, can fit about 30 people without overcrowding and water is warm though no always good for a swim due to bacteria levels. There are a few picnic tables, kid's small park, and a big parking lot with a couple of...
Read moreAka "The Rez" this is a very nice park with lots of flat walking trails, a playground for the kids and a beach area. I've kayaked here and you can spot some beavers if your lucky, seems like a popular fishing spot too with a number of paths to the waters edge through the woods. There is a fenced dog park on site and lots of parking. The only downside and the reason for my 3 star rating is that when the wind is blowing towards the park from the direction of the Oil Refinery you can not only smell the petroleum in the air but also taste it. Unfortunately the prevailing winds blow in this direction off the Bay and Eastward so having a look at the wind direction before you visit is definitely worth...
Read moreLove the changes they've made to the trails and playground at this location. The trails need a new layer of compacted dirt or compacted gravel but otherwise in great condition. There are large stones and rocks sticking up that make it hard to have a smooth stroller ride. Because of this I don't visit this place as often as I would like. Dog park and beach are used often, and there is a bench that is used along the walking trail often. I would recommend more benches along the trail itself... the second bench on the trail is down a washed out hill path next to the water. Not accessible for elderly or with a stroller. Overall, this is a nice, close to home spot where I can get...
