Phoca Tours — Attraction in Saint-Louis de Kent

Kors and Gisele provided my 19-year-old son and myself with a great afternoon, sharing their passion for the birds of the area, for the local history of the Acadian people and of course for the seal colony. We were camping at Kouchibouguac National Park and the unusually hot weather (in mid-September) had us searching, at the last minute, for ways to stay cool. Can't say enough good things about our excursion with the Phoca Tours people yesterday. For five years, we've been driving by the sign in Saint-Louis-de-Kent advertising their marine safaris, saying, "We should do that sometime."

We finally did, with Alberta guests in tow, and it was absolutely magnificent. I had no idea there were so many seals in our neck of the woods, to say nothing of all the other wildlife and stunning beauty we saw. This was an amazing pontoon boat tour, it gave a whole new appreciation of Kouchabougauc National Park. We saw very large groups of seals, lots of eagles, heron, yellow legs, terns and many others. The operators and guide are also very knowledgeable about the history of the area. I personally enjoyed hearing about the lobster fishing in the area.
