Domaine Sainte-Famille - Winery / Cidery / Orchard — Attraction in Sainte-Famille-de-l'Île-d'Orléans

My husband and I visited three vineyards/wineries on the island during our visit in August 2011. This vineyard offered the best tasting experience by far. The woman giving the tastings was charming and used flawless English (as did many in Quebec City and on the island), and between the two of us, we were able to try several wines, including a pear wine (surprisingly dry), ice cider, an ice wine, and some fruit liquors. The way it works is this: you pay $2 for a tasting of five wines, and select from a menu of four different options. I selected the #4 and my husband selected the #2. Visited as part of a guided winery tour. The site is an orchard and the tasting took place under the trees, so that was very nice. The staff was nice and accompanied us throughout the tasting talking about the site and their products. The tasting itself was limited to four products and did not include any ciders which was a disappointment. We could go to the shop and taste additional products but that cut away from the atmosphere & experience and we couldn't all go since the shop was small and the staff limited. Incredible orchard to visit with friends and loved ones. We tasted all the different apple liquors and wow it was spectacular. This place really stands out for their guest experience. We visited other wineries and orchards from the island and this was our favorite place out of them all. The gentleman running the shop was so helpful and was so much fun to talk to.
