The worst experience ever I had in 26 vineyard I've already tried. Actually as we were biking there and they mention on google they are closing at 4 pm, we skiped many activities on the way to arrive there by time and eat there. But they said the resto is closed (open in june and it was not mentioned on google) and we only can taste and buy wine. As we tasted their wines, we decided to buy a bottle and ask to picnic on their table on balcony facing the water (we had something small to eat when we find the resto is close) but the owner said: "No you can not eat here." I was surprised the way he behave and said only you can sit on bench and you have to pay for that! (In Quebec it is normal to buy wine and picnic in the yard with no pay) as we paid and start to enjoy the time I ask them if I can have a tray to bring the bottle and the glasses to the bench and again he refuses my demand and said: " No, we can not give you a tray"! I told him at least give me a disposable plastic plate and again he said: " No, we pay for them and we can not give it to people like this" I was totally shocked the way he refused to welcome us. Don't forget that I paid separately for wine tasting, bottle of wine and the bench and table in the yard!!!
I don't recommand...
Read moreWe loved this island offering several wineries to sample. du Mitan had a tasty late harvest white, full of peachy notes and long legs. Their 2006 red was almost bone dry, light with some oak notes. Their 2005 vertical was un-inspiring. But this far north, its not atypical. The staff was friendly but seemed to be reading off well intentioned quotes- "this red would be good with meats and this white with pasta or fish." They would improve astronomically by simply tasting their product. Still my host today was a charmer and very funny. For one of the smaller wineries, du Mitan had great views of the vines and the water. Bottom line. . . I had a good time at...
