Read moreExcellent park. Don't be fooled this park is big and has a beach right next to it.
There is a playground on the other end of the roundabout towards the Cove point. It's suited for you get kids in the age range of 3 to 8. There is a washroom right next to the playground and right before you enter the roundabout when you enter the park.
The park has lots of green spaces to relax, sleep or play sports. There are many a beaches and tables available for a large group as well.
The beach is further ahead from the playground right after the roundabout. Parking is free here as well and anywhere in the park. There are two entries to the beach from this point. The right has stones on the beach, the water is very choppy and is steep. Not suited for kids shorter than 4 feet whereas if you take a left you will reach a smaller beach area that is sandy, less choppy. This is the Cove area as you can see on the map.
Overall a very beautiful park with free working, access to beach, washroom and...
Read moreHuge park with long Blue Flag Beach recognition. Lots of parking close to the beach. I only went to the beach area further into the park but the beach stretches for a long length. There was an icecream cart there and washroom facility (no showers) with foot wash station and charging plug for electric wheelchair. Washroom building opened from 8:00am-9:00pm. Building also houses a lifeguard station. There was lifeguard supervision in sessions of the beach as signage indicated. Beach was sandy with some pebbles. Monitored with video cameras. I enjoyed the beach, especially watching the water skiers and boats going by when I was relaxing and not in the water; however, I was NOT impressed with the litter people left on the beach...such a surprise! The beach closer to the entrance has showers and more facilities. As for the park itself, it is huge with lots of picnic tables and shady areas, trails, playgrounds, children's zoo, bike park with moguls. You can spend all day there...
