A great little walk nearby the Town of Waskesiu. Located right near the park gate, it is a perfect way to spend an hour in the woods. An easy trail to walk, it is beautiful walk from the tall pine trees to the big and back. Informational stops explain the nature around you. A beautiful boardwalk takes you through the big to the edge of the water. It is so interesting how the trees change as you get closer to the big, and the. Loop back. An easy walk with meandering boardwalks to a deck on open water doesn’t take long, but you can spend a lot more time looking for tiny things and appreciating the silence or birdsong. No biting insects at this time of year but be well prepared for them in the summer. Then, you will be rewarded by tons of dragonflies, pitcher plants, and sundews. Lots of informative signs, too.
