Excellent hike, with a variety of beautiful views of Waskesiu Lake from the Narrows Peninsula. The hill at the start/end is a little on the steep side, so I wouldn't recommend for anyone with mobility challenges, but otherwise it's not an overly challenging trail. If you can time your visit when the trees change colors in the fall, you really should, the views are stunning! On a recent hike in October I was alone on the trail and saw a fox, a bobcat, a single elk, and many squirrels and birds. Absolutely lovely!

The Narrows Peninsula Trail is a picturesque 3-kilometer (1.8-mile) loop located within Prince Albert National Park in Saskatchewan, Canada. This moderate trail offers hikers a journey through diverse habitats, including balsam fir and jack pine forests, lush ostrich fern beds, and scenic views along the shores of Waskesiu Lake. Notably, the trail passes near the site of a bustling trading post established in the 1880s, adding historical significance to the natural beauty.

A lovely trail along a long peninsula that extends deep into the Narrows on Waskesiu Lake. From late May until midsummer or beyond, there is a beautiful and spectacular bed of ostrich ferns visible (in 2023, were growing but not completely unfurled May 22, were fully unfurled June 1). Several nice views of the water and the shore across the lake. Fairly steeply downhill at the beginning, which means uphill at the end. Wear hiking boots or good outdoor shoes. Be sure to check out the red Parks Canada Muskoka chairs about 3/4...
