Went on a family trip to Waskesiu, about a 2.5-hour drive from Saskatoon. We took the old scenic route, which made the drive more enjoyable with some beautiful views along the way. The area was quite busy since we visited on a weekend, and parking was a bit of a hassle, but it was definitely worth it in the end.
Not a lot of structured activities for kids, but there is a small playground that kept them entertained for a while. The lake itself was clean and inviting, and the whole area gave off a relaxing beach vibe perfect for a laid-back day with family. Read moreI have aways gone up from Saskatoon for the day. We would go to the beach, walk around downtown and go for short hikes. This year we did our family vacation there for 5 days. There is so much to do in Waskisiu for guided tours, museums, centers and classes. Actually being able to commit to the longer trails brings hiking to another level. We would go to Banff for summer vacations, but Waskisiu is more than ch closer to us and not out of hand with tourists. We look forward to heading up there...

The baseball field, soccer field and grass field in front of the beach are completely overrun by weeds. There is no green space for people to enjoy anymore.
