I was in town doing research related to the BCATP program and was excited that there happened to be an open cockpit day at the museum on the day I happened to have to be in Saskatoon. It was great despite the weather, as there were still aircraft indoors and out to see, the chance to climb in several planes, and knowledgeable folks to talk to about them. It was amazing to see so many flying planes in the hangar, as well as the airframe from an Avro Anson being restored, and a hallway with the stories of many SK pilots lost in war. I was quite happy to have paid my $15 even before I found out that included a tasty hamburger, chips and pop for lunch, at these Friday seasonal gatherings! There is a whole community of folks who turn out for them. It does get busier as the day goes on. I think I was there about 1045...

We dropped in on the day the Snowbirds were in town performing a show. The museum itself is in a hanger and nicely done up. I can’t say what is all there on regular days as the had a good part of the hanger dedicated to seating for people grabbing some food as part of the show. The Snowbirds did not do any flyovers at the museum so we only saw them flying in the distance. That was a disappointment. However, they did land and taxi up to right in front of us, wound up and blew smoke, then shutdown and the crews came into the museum to interact with the public. That was great. The museum itself seemed to have a fair number of displays and write-ups. Next time I’m in town I’ll likely visit when there isn’t an...

Underwhelming...unfortunately, I was very excited to visit here for the first time and, although they have amazing displays of some very amazing aircraft, there was very little of them to see. It was also very busy so, standing in line to have a sit in the helicopter or using the simulator (which is just a computer monitor with flight controls) staff were great. Very friendly and very knowledgeable. Parking was a little tight and we struggled to get our big van out. Theres only one bathroom in the main area. If thats occupied, you have to walk down the longest hallway of your life to get to the other ones. If you're into planes and whatnot, I would recommend it but not...
