Nice beach, with beautiful shallow water and soft sand. Compared to Southampton, the water is warmer and shallower which makes me think this would be an excellent spot for kids comparatively. The mistreatment of the dunes is saddening, particularly as we heard many locals say the beach was considerably narrower in past years. Despite this, the same people walked up and over the dunes, harming the vulnerable grasses. Because the beach was narrow it might be difficult to get a spot at peak times. Read moreThis beach is a treasure to my family and my mom's entire family. They've been visiting Port Elgin every summer, and Gobles Grove is the best beach for families to visit. It's never as busy as the Main Beach, but the water and beach is just as beautiful. I haven't been in a couple of years myself unfortunately, but I know that the water levels were extremely high the last time I saw this beach, which wiped away most of the sand! I hope that the water has gone down a bit, because I would love to come back and visit soon. Gorgeous place to watch the world...
Read moreI recently rented a wonderful cottage, just slightly off the beach - and what a wonderful experience. I have spent a lot of time on Lake Huron shores, and her sunsets are the best I have ever seen, and Gobles Grove beach did not dissappoint. The clear waters of Huron, and the clean beach was beautiful.
We went into the town for supplies and it was easy to get around with great shopping options and amenities.
