Algoma University — Attraction in Sault Ste. Marie

Every thing at Sault Campus is about money and you don’t get the quality needed.

Courses: You would be paying for some courses that’s offered online and self taught. The courses that have professors teaching, some don’t even respond to your emails at all. Some don’t provide no feedback for assignments, etc.

Housing & Meal Plan: housing and mandatory meal plan is very overpriced; look to pay around $10,000 for the school year. Meal plan food is the same food over and over for the whole year.

Library & Bookstore: very spacious, but first floor is very noisy. Second floor is much better in terms of noise. Book store is very pricey as well.

Employment: It may be very difficult to find employment on campus; preference would be given to friend of friends rather than your qualifications. Of campus employment is near to impossible as well; employment is by association as well.

Documents: any documents you request here, there is charge (proof of enrolment, graduation certificate, etc).

Overall, I would say avoid Algoma...

I don't think that this is the university. I think this is a higher secondary school for kids. As per my experience, this is the worthest university ever that i show in my whole academic career. Moreover they have their own rules and regulations. As an international student and especially as a university student, we have that right to choose days and timings for all the courses, but no they doesn't care about it. And what can i describe about fees, they increase in between $1000 to $2000 in every semester. Like whatt they are imagine?? And when students do mail to the registrar for inquiry purposes they never gives satisfied answer to them. Absolutely the worst university you can waste your money on. It’s impossible to get through to anyone helpful even for the smallest questions/concerns. You may even think you can probably handle it because you’re used to being a good student…you’re wrong. This university will break your spirit in every aspect where you will no longer care about doing well but instead just be getting by enough to pass. Algoma University has no redeeming qualities whatsoever. The professors are bland, robotic, and about as interesting as an old shoe.

The audacity for that school to constantly advertise how open they are to helping their students with anything. It’s a lie. Don’t let them convince you with their smiles and stupid free pen. Don’t waste your time. Don’t ruin your mental health. DO...
