I LOVE IT! The person who built this house really did a good job!! Lots of details and really feel like Maud Lewis lives there! It’s one of the best places to visit in Digby. I’ve been to the one in the museum in Halifax, but feel like this replica house shows more about her life, and even I love this one better! (I mean the house in museum in some way doesn’t fit well, but I definitely love to see that the government (?) wanna keep it intact and protect all stuff in the house)
Also there’s a tiny store next to the house if you wanna buy the small cute wooden replica house or the paintings. Cash only tho! (Need to leave the money in the donation box)
Definitely recommend this place if you...

The tiny size, hand-painted embellishments, and cramped yet charming interior are faithfully replicated. It carries much of the essence of the original, with the added bonus of being able to enter within. Very well worth the time to visit. Keep your eyes out on the drive back to it, for the Maud Lewis inspired bird houses on poles! Be sure to leave your donation for upkeep, as this remains a rare fully voluntary, privately maintained tribute to Maud Lewis, her life, and her fresh take on painying the...
Read moreThis was the gem discovery of the whole area. Wow! Stunning. A real life, actual size replica of Maud Lewis's house on the private property of the owner. Originally built for his wife, he has opened it to the public and only asks a donation. He has souvenirs to sell inside the house, and all items are on the honour system, if he isn't around, there is a locked box on the door where you can deposit the money. The artistry is truly amazing, and includes the shed, mail box and surrounding yard. Way better than the replica on the actual grounds of Maud Lewis's original house which is now a park. If you are at all interested in Maud Lewis, you will be so happy to...
