I had a very disappointing experience back in December, I went there for the Christmas event at the beginning of the month, and I paid for a photo session with Kat Durant. I enjoyed the museum, Santa came to meet my son and there were lots of great history items to look at. The staff was very friendly, albeit not very knowledgeable about what was happening. I had 2 ask 3 different staff members about the photo shoot and not one of them knew what I was referring to. I finally went upstairs and found a lady with a camera and awkwardly asked if she was Kat. The photo session itself was fun, although so many folks kept walking through while she was shooting, and it was kind of wild to me how that was just happening. Anyway, I was still looking forward to the photos, she took A LOT! Especially the one where my son grabbed the Christmas tree branch, I was so excited for that one. Well, it took 2 and a half weeks of me messaging them just to get a response and I was told she was working on them, but they gave me a link to where the photos were. So, there were 3 photos from my session and definitely none of the candid ones I was looking forward to the most. I waited a week before messaging again to ask if there would be any more. I never got a response. Today I heard from Kat who explained it was a charity photo session and that she posted the ones that turned out. So after all that, the photo session feels like a complete waste of time and a rip off. Had I been properly informed that I would get only 3 photos for my money and time, I would NOT have bothered. In the future, they would do well to be very clear on that. But also, in the photos page, I noticed there were more than 3 photos for other people so again, someone must have dropped the ball here. I appreciate the photos I got, but what an overall...
Read moreAmazing place, staff, and visit. One of the most beautiful places I have ever visited. Small museum but fantastic. House was build 1860, authentic and classy. I loved it. The staff are super nice, informative, and helpful. They even have a game for kids to find some house items and win a prize. Kids had fun, know new information, and we had chance to move to see the the museum. We bought some house made jam and soap from their gift shop. Highly recommended. We drove one hour from Ottawa, no regret. Do not forget to visit the railway museum their, Too close do not waste the chance. We were 8 people, paid only 27$.
Read moreIts always the people and their behaviour , support and attitude towards customers makes the place memorable and the staff at this place succeeded in that by helping me to organize my engagement party.
Thanks to Sienna, Quinn, Megan and Aiden for the support, and help and this will be remembered forever, not by me but also by the guests who participated in the event.
They are super cool and gracious people I have ever met and I would definitely recommend this place...
