I’ve lost track of how many times I visited these ruins during the past 6 or 7 years that I learned about them. It is a beautiful and large church that burned down in the early 1970’s. The stone walls were saved, and over the years a dedicated group of volunteers has turned the building into a beautiful piece of history. The church is located in the quiet countryside. Today I led a group of four bikers there for a picnic lunch. It was so quiet and peaceful. Definitely worth a visit and easy to get to....

This is an incredible place to visit. Very hystoric and the beauty of the ruins is sheer beauty at it's best! Just entering the ruins of St. Raphael's will leave you in awe of it's incredible external views and it's easy to picture the interrior of the church FILLED with parishioners at 1 point before the church burnt. Our family goes for a visit to the ruins as often as possible and to say hello to family members who have passed and to stare at the ruins and imagine it's beauty when she stood...

Built in 1821 🥌 Burned in 1970 🔥 Renovated in 1975 🧱

This is a beautiful historic site! At the entrance you can see an old photograph of what it used to look like in its hay day!

The area where you walk down the stairs looks like it would have been the basement. The floor was likely wood and at the level of the main entrance gate which unfortunately means it was destroyed.

It is a serene and quiet place to do some reflection. Highly recommend if you’re...

Such amazing history here, the ruins of the church are incredible. My family and I walked through the old church and around the grounds and took in all of the history, paid our respects to the departed. They had a table with old newspaper clippings covering the fire, and pictures of the church before. Amazing. I recommend visiting if you are a history buff, or appreciate old architecture. There's not a whole lot to see, but what's there is incredible.

Nice place to visit and take pictures. Interesting to view the historical Church ruins. It wasn't as much a ruin as I thought. Very well kept and clean and the worker that was there was quite polite, informed and friendly. Worth a visit. It doesn't take long to see everything so don't really plan a day out of it but if you're in the area, definitely worth checking it out. Great place for amateur or professional photographers.
