Spallumcheen Golf & Country Club — Attraction in Spallumcheen

Brought some family members to this club. Let the pro shop know that we had a couple newer players and they encouraged us to have fun at the desk.

We proceeded to tee off at our tee time (on time). As we had newer players we had hit some unfortunate shots on the hole but we're up and putting on the green for pars and bogeys.

Here's where it gets bad. Standing on the green the entire hole was an older staff member looking at his watch and tapping his foot. He approached us after I had par-ed the hole. He came at us aggressively stating that he wanted a maximum of 13 minutes per hole and that we had been over. This was in very bad taste and came off very unprofessional. We mentioned we hadn't been over the time by much at all and that we were very unimpressed with the way the staff had handled the situation, especially after being encouraged to play even though we had stated we had some new and very excited players.

The teenager we had brought to play, and the rest of our group were embarrassed and upset. This is not how you want to treat people paying to play at 100/head after encouraging them to go ahead. The gatekeeping at this place left a very bad taste in our mouths (even after just one hole). We werent made aware of the urgent pace they expected us to play at before teeing off, so this was all a pretty big shock. Our group decided to just leave and request a refund. We would rather spend our money somewhere that isnt going to treat us like absolute garbage on a family outing.

If you are a relatively new or amature golfer I wouldn't recommend coming here if you want to be treated with any sort of decency. You should be ashamed Spaullumcheen Golf and...

Came to BC from Ontario for a family reunion in Vernon. Wanted to find a place to golf and followed the advice of locals and played Spallumcheen. I found the course to be well maintained and nicely challenging with great facilities and food. What made the day special was the hospitality of the staff. From the lady in the pro shop, the starter to the course marshall... they were all hospitable and friendly. My wife and I were paired up with two veteran members... Peter and Otto. By the time we finished the first hole we were sharing stories and thoroughly enjoying ourselves. The round finished way too soon... but a nice local craft beer and delicious food in the clubhouse ended a great afternoon. Very disappointed with a member of this club. He came over to our hole and yelled at us for being a hole behind, which in turn meant I didn't play a few holes out of intimidation. My husband and I tried to enjoy our 25th anniversary golfing here and paid a lot of money to do so. I'm an amateur golfer and was respectful of my time if I was struggling on a hole. Thankfully we were paired with a wonderful father/son duo who said this particular member is miserable and is known to be very rude. Not once did the course Marshall comment on us being behind and was around a couple times. We will not return to this course because of being treated so poorly by this entitled member.
