All I can say is don't waste your money here. You'll go into the place with fake smiling faces from the employees, just to overhear them making fun of the guests who are not experienced. They are rude, racist, and ignorant. Absolute worst first experience. Will definitely not be going back AND will never recommend the place to anyone, especially not people who...
Read moreThis is my ski resort of choice!! I just started snowboarding and find that Ski Snow Valley is super beginner friendly. Though I’m sure it’s a great hill for more advanced skiers and snowboarders as well, this review is just based on my experience.
What really makes a difference about here vs the other ski slopes I’ve visited this winter is their standard of care and customer service. Lift and carpet operators are super encouraging and celebrate your small accomplishments with you (like finally being able to get off the chair lift, or successfully making turns down the hill without falling). They also make an active effort effort to make sure you’re having fun. For example, one particular young man operating the magic carpet was going around asking everyone their favourite foods and places to eat, and giving out high fives and good jobs. Something small like that makes all the difference.
Majority of the staff on the slopes are teens and young adults, but they are professional in what they do and take their jobs seriously. They don’t fool around and it is evident that they make safety a top priority.
Do not hesitate booking lessons with them either! I booked one private lesson and found the rates very reasonable and instructors knowledgeable. My private lesson was very valuable to me as my instructor was able to identify to me what I was doing “wrong” and explained very well how to improve. I’ve also listened in on and watched a few group lessons and can say that the instructors try to give as much one-on-one time as possible.
It is absolutely worth it for me to drive the 1.25hr to be able to snowboard at an exceptional hill! Money saving tip: take advantage of their night lift tickets! Nights start at 3pm on weekends and their slopes are very...
Read moreJust had the most disgusting customer service experience I’ve ever encountered at a ski hill. Skiing here can be fun, small hill but lots of families, so you would think the experience will be wholesome.
But really, an experience can be taken to the next level by its staff - and the staff here are absolutely arrogant and outright rude.
My family and I were seated at 5:15pm In the restaurant after nice day out. We were informed that we only had 45 minutes to leave. Fair enough, it’s COVID, looked at my watch and confirmed 6 pm to leave, no problem.
25 minutes later, Andy the manager came by to tell us to immediately leave. I tried to inform him that we actually have about 20 mins left, and he accused me of lying. I guess a customer is not always right.
I tried to lead with him, that there must have been a mistake - He became aggressive, raising his tone unprofessionally in front of several customers and becoming intimidating to myself, my wife and 2 young daughters. He startled the guests leaving a bad taste in all of their mouths. How do you allow someone with a temper like this to be a manager?
Our food was also actually delayed and the kitchen staff promised they would let the host table know about it - but the host staff and Andy rejected the kitchens request to make up for their error by providing good customer service.
Either way, they forced us to leave, food in hand and told us to re-lineup in the cold.
You’re better off at Horseshoe Resort and Moonstone, two mountains that absolutely believe in great customer service, I’d stay away from here, never...
