Our visit to the Colonial Building was an incredibly rewarding experience, largely due to our knowledgeable guide, Alex. He provided an insightful and thorough explanation of the building’s architecture, detailing its various artistic styles and how it has evolved over time. Alex also shared fascinating stories about the historical events that took place there, offering a deeper understanding of Newfoundland's past.

What made the tour even more special was Alex's genuine passion for both the building and the history of Newfoundland. His enthusiasm was contagious, and it was clear that he deeply cares about this place. He answered all our questions with great detail, and we left with a newfound appreciation for the building and its role in the island’s heritage.

I highly recommend to visit this place, you will walk out the door with full hands...

There are guided tours but we didn't take one. As we were the only ones there at the time we visited, the staff were more than happy to spend time with us to explain a few things.

There is a small...

No waiting in line. Large building with 3 floors. Architecture was beautiful and the ceilings were incredible but the room weren’t furnished so it was just walking into bare rooms with maybe a table in the middle of the room or just a chair. Would have enjoyed a furnished house or even partially furnished to get a sense of what each room would have been used for. The only area that had detail was the...
