Very confusing trail, especially at the start. 2 other parties were lost, just like us (1 family with 2 children, approx. 7 & 9, + 2 other couples .. approx. same age as us late 50s).. No exaggeration, the trail branches out all along the way, sometimes 2 or 3 ways, no indication of what is the official trail. The first family we met turned around, too confusing and dangerous for kids. Once at the top of the first climb (1 hr) we did find several posts, very weathered. We got lost many more times going down the path. We had to climb back up many times, to try and find the offical trail (or safest path back down). I understand that some hikers may wat to wander off path, creating their own path, but they leave behind a maze of unknown paths that others enevitably follow. It would be important if trail officials/organizers groomed the trails once per year and/or made sure the "official path" had clear signage (spray paint arrows on rock path every 20 to 50 feet). I would only recommend this trail only to the very adventurist and...
Read moreThis is a great path. You can start from the Ocean Sciences Centre or from Quidi Vidi Village. Either way, it's a lot of up at first, with gorgeous views throughout. Then a few forays into the woods, coming back to the ocean every once in a while. A lot of great places to stop and admire the views. A lot of great soundscapes. There is a bit of a walk through the forest near the dump, so expect a lot of trash on the trail. At one point you'll end up on a paved road, just follow it until it reconnects with the trail again. Watch out for mountain bikes on the QV...
Read moreA wonderful trail on a sunny day. There are stairs on this walk and some parts that require you to half-climb a little bit. It is definitely worth it though, there are many view points to take many pictures and enjoy the waves crashing against the rock. There are signs helping you to stay on the paths. I didn't walk all the way but turned around about an hour and a half in. The trail can be reached by public transport (Taking bus 15) and can be reached within 10-15 minutes of walking...
