The North Head Trail is what people think when they think about hiking at Signal Hill, and sure, Iâve done that one a million times.
But the Ladies Lookout trail is special, for a bunch of reasons. If you donât take the route out to Cuckoldâs Cove, you either start or end with Georgeâs Pond, pictured here like something out of a Viking seascape.
If you want it tougher, go up-hill. I found this extremely rewarding despite the seven thousand steps that would put High Hrothgar to shame.
There are a bunch of things to see on your wayâlookouts, Inuksuks, heritage markers, and even an eagleâs nest. When you get to the top youâre at scenic Signal Hill and could easily descend back down to Georgeâs Pond, or even the North Head Trail if you were so inclined.

   Read moreThis absolutely stunning trail from Signal Hill is highly recommended. We walked to SH so it was a great opportunity to ditch a vehicle and enjoy the area. The remarkable views along this trail and North Head were just gorgeous. Once you start heading downhill you'll be in some lovely forest settings with great trees and bushes nestled right into nature on all sides.
The path is rugged in some parts with rocks sticking out but managable if you watch your footing. Other areas as clear rock paths or wooden stairs. The path exits on to Burma that will lead to Quidi Vidi. We enjoyed the actual walk to QV more...
