I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to the botanical garden. The site was different than anticipated, with more walking trails - which I didn’t know about and hadn’t allocated time for. If I came again, I would give myself more time to enjoy them all.

The main garden and Macleod trail were lovely. I appreciated all the signage and info at each garden - very educational. I was there at 9:30 AM on a Thursday and the gardens were quiet and peaceful.

Staff at the front desk were welcoming and helpful.

For a lover of gardens and flowers - this was the perfect way to spend a morning.

There is a ramp to enter the main building, an electronic door opener for accessibility. The main path and boardwalk are level, making a lot of the space accessible, though it is not paved, and there are some hills, which may post a...

It isincredible that this is not one of the more recommended places on blogs or vlogs. It’s a 15 minute drive from St John’s harbour. This is an absolutely beautiful collection of different types of gardens from rock gardens to Japanese style gardens. There is even a green house with a grapevine growing profusely with massive bunches of grapes. An absolute must for all the gardeners and those with botanical conservation and nature interests. There is a wonderful pollinator garden and beehive. In addition to the gardens there are trails most gently sloping and low inclines with lots of signs for teaching information about the wild plants and berries. Definitely senior friendly trails with exception one that is clearly labelled...

That will be the last time I go there. Parking is a joke, right across the road from the entrance is a empty parking lot, but you're not aloud to park there. It's only for volunteers. Their people on the gate have absolutely no idea what they are at or how to control traffic for all the people walking from a km away up the hill from where they had to park. Because of the extremely poor set up, the total uselessness of the people on the entrance and the fact you have to walk up and down the road with traffic going up and down the road, this will end up being one of the Christmas tragedies you hear about on the news after a person or child gets knocked down by a vehicle. Mun you CAN and SHOULD be doing...

MUN Botanical Garden is a horticultural treasure trove. It has over 250 different flowering rhododendron, which is one of the largest collections in all North America. The cultivated garden area has a greenhouse and a large collection of plants. Many of them named for educational purposes. It has a rock garden. Many of the rocks and boulders are made of limestone and have plants that only grow in limestone regions. the garden has nature trails that are easily navigated . Also a field house that has a gift shop, The Garden cafe, art shows and is devoted to education and research. No matter what time of year you visit during working hours the staff are friendly and the garden is sure to educate or inspire you.
