Signal Hill Visitor Centre — Attraction in St. John's

My husband and I arrived at the Center at 5:10. We wandered around reading the various displays. We waited for the doors to open to view the video - I eventually went out to ask about it and was informed that it was an on demand showing and was 20 minutes long - and they closed at 6 PM - it was 5:45! I asked if we might watch it til 6. They allowed us to watch it until 6 coming in to tell us it was time to close!!! We were disappointed that someone wouldn’t be around for the less than 10 minutes it would have taken for us to complete watching the very interesting historical video of Signal Hill!!! I was told we could come back tomorrow- I mentioned to pay another $18??? There was no mention of giving us a voucher! Very...

Nice visitor centre with a few parking spots. This is about 1/3 of the way up the full hill to the Queen's Barracks, and is a nice stopping point especially if you're walking or running up and down. There's a small cafe on site and some restroom facilities. The staff at this place are really on top of things and know their stuff. They've got a fantastic display of historical artifacts that we found incredibly interesting and surprisingly easy to grasp.
