Victoria park is a small urban green space with a decent well used Ball Diamond for summer and a fast toboggan hill for winter. It is also home to the Victoria Falls and Gorge, which appear below the Ball Diamond during heavy rain. Run-off from the Ball Diamond cascades attractively down the steep bank onto the footpath below. Fortunately the catch basins are fully clogged with sand and gravel from previous rainfall events, so the torrent carves a delightful little gorge through the path before opening in an attractive Delta by the off leash Park. Diligently filled in by City staff after each rain, the gorge returns when the Falls reactivate. This little man made wonder is a must for visitors to St John's, in the unlikely event that they visit when it is raining.

My friend and I stopped by Victoria park for the lights festival in the middle of summer. The park was beautifully maintained and manicured and has well kept facilities. The photos provided are of the park during the event so maybe not wholly representative of the park all year round. But it's a great sledding spot in the winter and sometimes is one of the quieter parks in town, though it can suffer some for its location near downtown

The city has done a fantastic job maintaining and upgrading this park. It's been worked on a lot of this summer and it shows. Great quiet park in the middle of the city. Fun place to eat lunch and relax during the week. Parking can be an issue but overall a great little gem close to downtown.

I always enjoyed Victoria park. It's even better since all the renovations. It's a great place in the heart of the city to enjoy the sun, take in a baseball game, sledding or even just take advantage of the free wi-fi. It's also perfect for social distancing because the park is never very busy even in the heart of summer. Lantern Festival is a must visit. I look forward to more events happening...
