Date of stay: July 2016. Altho' you have to reserve your site at Battery Prov. Pk. thru' the internet, we called direct for information and we were assured that there would be no problem with the size of our big rig, so what the heck, let's give it a try. Delighted that we did. Battery is a typical Prov. Park in that there are many tent sites and dry camping sites. Once we made our way to the top of the hill, we had no problem backing into our "large" 60ft.+ level, gravel site. Services are not placed properly for big rig hookup but the "friendly" staff were very accommodating and supplied extra water hose. We also had to use our 30amp extension cord. But it was worth it all. The park is conveniently located to the town of St. Peters and the view was awesome. Washrooms are very clean and modern for a Provincial Park. It was all we expected and then some. I would give this a 5 star rating as a Provincial Park and a 3.5 star rating for services only because of limited facilities for our kind of requirements. YES, I would stay again. WARNING: If you require services as we did, call ahead to make your arrangements. You will still need to book on the internet but the staff can help walk you thru' it to make sure you get...
Read moreReally beautiful Provincial park. Nice hiking trails but short ones. We tried the Woodland Loop which was already a small one, 850m but, it was not maintained (confirmed by a ranger right after). Lots of serviced sites have ocean views and others are tucked into the woods, that is a really great feature from this park as most RV serviced spots are almost like a Walmart parking lot. Park could have more washrooms with showers (only one for 56 spots is nothing). Overall well cleaned thou. And people just don't seem to understand actual situation, we locked the door to have a shower to guarantee "one household at a time" rule (as advertised by our health minister and several rangers) and someone insisted to get in - too bad, just waited. Beach was kind of awkward, I thought it was too close to the canal so, some weird smells. Overall a great experience as the park is close to other really nice places on Cape...
Read moreVery nice, well maintained campground with nice views over the water from several sites. Friendly staff who know how to do their jobs. There is only 1 shower building with not enough shower stalls for the size of the campground. Showers are free. Campground has a nice variety of open and partially treed sites, with a few walk-in sites. Serviced sites are water, power. Campsites are mostly located on a hill but are good size. Several hiking trails to explore, nice day use area with a small pebble beach and picnic tables. Also a cute working lighthouse near the office. Campground is close to the St. Peter’s canal which is interesting, also the town of St. Peter’s with numerous stores, eateries and gift shops. Firewood bundles are $5 (2021) and are dry wood...
