I love light houses and things like that. So we drove a fair ways to see the Covehead Harbor light. It was nice. But I've seen much more interesting and frankly, nicer lights. But, to be fair, this was a nice lighthouse and I'm being harsh based on other nice light houses. This light house was still very much worth the drive. I loved it being close to the road and the parking to visit. But since I wasn't interested in spending much time on the beach. The price into the park wasn't a welcome thought, for a short look and pictures. Although the toll attendant took mercy on us and let us have a quick look and a few pictures without the price of a day pass. (And I sincerely thank her) As such, there's no real gripes. Read moreI visited Covehead Harbor Lighthouse in the evening around 6-7 p.m., and it was such a peaceful experience. The lighthouse is located in a national park, but there was no fee to enter, possibly because we came later in the day. It’s a small but charming lighthouse, perfect for some cute photos. The real highlight for me was the beach — it wasn’t too crowded, and we found some nice seashells along the shore. We stayed for about an hour and watched the sunset, which was absolutely stunning. There was a sign on the side of the lighthouse that described a wicked storm that killed a lot of boaters back in the late 1800s. But there was no information on when this lighthouse was built. It is still in operation, as evidenced by the light. Beautiful shoreline and beach. A lot of people were there taking advantage of this day.
