Archibald Lake — Attraction in Stillwater

This is a beautiful lake in northern Wisconsin. We were out on the lake at 5:30 am on a summer morning. There are a fair amount of residential houses on the lake, but not as many as some of the lakes in the area. A no wake exclusion during the evening and morning house is great for a peaceful fishing trip. The fishing while we were there was not the best because of the weather and climate conditions, however, we understood that coming in. We still caught a few largemouth bass later in the morning. I am told this is one of the better lakes for walleye. The lake has some pretty shallow areas in some places, but there is a good enough deap area for skiing and boating. By mid day we saw both fisherman and skiers on the lake. The single public boat landing is somewhat spartan, a single skirt going into the water. There are no facilities there, not even a pier for boarding a boat. This tends to keep the crowds away from the lake and I had no problem with that. Keep in mind that you have a 400 yard road you need to back down, there is no turn around...

This little lake is amazing. We do not own any property here, so we rent when we travel up from Texas. The little town is great with some great little bars to visit and we hit the burger stand every single time! We rent a boat from Power Motors and they deliver and pick up.
