Unbelievable place very easy to find but what choice are you going to take there are several trails and you can take any choice but only one leads to the Rapids. I had a wonderful experience with my sons and my wife walking through the nature trails and going through the Rapids the water is shallow there's a lot of rocks and when you get to the falls that are lost to see and lots to do. this is a very pristine area well-preserved away from a lot of Tourism and one can only imagine how much fun and how serene and calm and tranquil this area is, it is indeed a great outing for any ages special for families and especially with kids that want to Splash in the water and have fun I highly recommended it.Please check for water levels when planning your trip because it's not suitable for kids when levels are high with strong current and also river bed rock is sharp and grooves are present throughout the brim area posing a chance of...

Love this place. We take our sons here. However we are dismayed at the condition. We took out 2 garbage bags of haserdous garbage . Also someone has dumped household garbage on the right side of the parking lot in excess of 10 plus bags and it's so much we cant clean it ourselves. Why on earth people think this is ok I don't know. We will be reporting this today. Also camping and atv use in excess also. Beautiful place and I hope it's not closed because of people being careless. Just an FYI while gathering garbage we picked up a 10 inch knife just laying a stone through from the falls up on the bank. It's Shiney so new this summer. Our kids are 4 and 5 can you imagine if they found it or worse fell on it....

What a beautiful little gem in Campbellford, Northern Ontario. Our family went for a visit and found some gorgeous, albeit calm, rapids full of life. We saw frogs, crayfish, minnows, birds - and one GIANT snapping turtle. Its a great place to relax and hang out. Easily accessible from the free parking area after a short trail walk. The rapids and surrounding areas are very shallow, so you can bring your little ones into the water safely and with confidence. I love to fish, but most of the area is not very conducive to fishing as the water is so shallow, however there is a deeper area towards the end of the last waterfall, but hard to...

Callaghan's Rapids is a wonderful place for a picnic. There are a limited amount of picnic benches. Which means they may already be occupied by the time you get there, but no worries. Bring your own chairs and/or beach towels and spread out on one of the many rocks along the river bank or a rock island. The river is shallow and has a main pool that is deep enough for adults and children to comfortably swim in. The pool is created by a wall (about 4ft high) when you're close to the wall the current pushes you towards it, which is a lot of fun. Just be careful the wall is rough and the pressure can be a lot to handle.
