It's one of our go-to beach places. It's only about 10-15 minutes drive north of Penticton with ample parking. Even at its busiest, we found a spot. If you don't have pets, you park at the main, paved parking area. If you have a dog, instead of going to the main parking, you go the opposite way at the top where you access the highway, go around the government experiment orchard and park near the creek, but that has very limited spots. If it's full, cross the highway to the east side where immediately on the right there is an access road to another small parking area. Then you cross the highway back by taking the footpath under the highway. To access the beach from the "doggy side", follow the the path between the experiment orchard and the creek. It's a short walk, 10-20 mins tops even if you're slow. It is an uneven dirt path. Eventually you will see the creek empty into Okanagan Lake and all the rocky beach is considered an off-leash dog area. Have fun!

Well kept, family friendly beach on the south end of Summerland. The main beach faces south and gets direct sun from morning until night. Ample parking and facilities including a concession, change facility with flush toilets and apparently 90 picnic tables! The beach is kept pretty clean and free of pebbles but the transition into the water typically has more rocks so water shoes may be advisable for little ones. Finding a spot near the water has never been an issue either ... lots of real-estate to choose from. Definitely worth checking out for a day if you're in the area.

a gem for beachgoers and nature lovers alike. The park boasts a beautiful, sandy beach on the shores of Okanagan Lake, making it an ideal spot for swimming, sunbathing, and picnicking. The water is clear and inviting, perfect for a refreshing dip on a hot summer day. The park is well-maintained, with clean facilities and ample parking. Additionally, the surrounding scenery of lush hills and vineyards adds to the park's charm. Overall, Sun-Oka Beach Provincial Park offers a serene and enjoyable experience for visitors of all ages.

Beautiful beach for the entire family. The grounds have lots of grassy shady areas and ample amounts of picnic tables through out. The beach is all sand and very well maintained. The public bathrooms were very clean and the staff on-site was very polite. Boat rentals are reasonable and the staff there was very friendly too. A great place to spend and entire day in the sun.

Do you like to go to one of the busiest beaches in the Okanagan where privacy is pretty much non existent? Do you like driving around a parking lot for 20 mins waiting for a spot to open up? Then this is your place to go! Really nice beach area, has BBQ pits,a washroom, dog area, wooded pathways, recreation areas. Convenient location right off of the highway.
