We visited this park for the first time from Toronto and we really enjoyed our stay there over the labour day long weekend. The park staff are welcoming and friendly and super helpful to get you any info you may need. The park itself is beautiful and kept very clean. The campsites vary in size so be sure to read the site descriptions carefully so you’re not surprised or disappointed. The washrooms and shower facilities are kept clean as well so no worries there. The park is located right by the lake so there is a nice docking area to launch a boat, canoe or kayak or just fish from the dock if you like. The park has a few beaches but they aren’t big at all but still work to take a quick dip in the crystal clear lake to cool off if you like. The camping here is awesome and we really enjoyed it. People in other reviews are right with the slight noise as the park is near a main road and lake that has motorized boats and seaplane access. As you can see with my 5 star rating it did not bother us at all as the road noise was minimal and the seaplane was cool to watch the couple of times it flew a day but the morning takeoff was quite the wake up alarm some days that gave us some good morning laughs when we woke up late. If you’re looking for absolute remote camping silence it might not be for you. Campsites are kinda close to each other but everyone was very respectful so we had a fantastic time there and I absolutely would come back...

We booked two campsites and both were small. Smaller than usual provincial campsites so make sure you do some research before you book. This park is near the highways, so at night you will hear the highway passing through, some motor boats, and in the morning you'll hear a boat plane flying over you around 7am till sundown. Definitely not a recommended site for those who want to get away from the city. The reason why i gave it one star is because of the insanely strict rules. I was just having a nice conversations with friends and to only be interrupted by the park ranger for a "noise complaint" at 7pm where the sun was still up. Not only that, we also stated that our neighbours were also as "loud" as we are and they received zero attention from the park ranger. Even hearing a crying girl around 3:30am till 4am and nothing was done about it. As a person of colour i felt discriminated by our neighbours and park rangers. Also, i rented out 3 canoes, we went to the canoe place and one of our canoe was missing, as well as one of our keys did not unlock the designated canoe spot they provided. We ended up not using the 2 canoes because of the hassle to continuously drive back and forth to the office and the canoe spot. I will never come back to this park again, i hope one day they'll get it together. But i do not recommend this park at all, i suggest you all to go to...

It is a real shame to leave such a poor review for an Ontario Park. It really has little to do with the park. The facilities are clean (albeit aged for some toilets). Staff is the usual friendly Ontario parks staff.

The issue stems from it's location. It's less than 1km off of highway 11. It's on a decline into Temegami, and across the lake from a waterdrome. Highway 11 is one of the main north south thoroughfares, and being on a decline means you get a lot of trucks using their 'jake brakes' the loud, muttering noise carries throughout the park. Around 6am is when the real fun begins. Departures and Arrivals of waterplanes. Thankfully midweek they come and go around 6 times, the noise is strong enough to rattle any tent or canopy around. You will swear you were at Pearson.

The park itself is wonderful, the sites spacious, and private. The water is lovely and warm in the summer. There are mooring points for boats to fish and explore the lake. As it is a small park, not many programs are offered, a real shame for such a kid and family friendly park.

Finlayson is an excellent gateway-to-the-north park. It's proximity to highway 11, Temiskamkng Shores, North Bay, and Quebéc situate it ideally. However, as a getaway park to spend a week, park...

Amenities Positive things: Washrooms, Bath house , fish point for cleaning , a lot of garbage bins, at the gatehouse have ice and firewood(they sell until 9pm and the price is cheaper) , playground, beaches are small , but all the amenities is fair cleaner and organized. Negative things: Dogs cannot barking. Fine 70$ Music : need be done by 7pm and cannot be loud anytime, the NEGATIVE thing is this they don't permit any music like little higher even its not higher they came and ask to turn off. This park is most for calming and not sound site. We are talking by night and they suddenly came and ask rude us to turn off the sound and the music aren't loud even can hear from the road. The water airplane we don't hear a lot of times on this specially site 96 . We are in front of washroom 🚻 and bathhouse. Another positive : the sky is amazing on this site but have some sites near to the highway you cannot see this sky. The fireplace is good and have a picnic table very good . The campground was very clean when we get there . However, we can certainly go back them because the structure is very clean and organized. The security team is always around they maintain the safety very well.

I stayed here at the end of July 2020. It was far enough out of Toronto that you did t get a lot of the rowdy, disrespectful crowds that you see in southern and central Ontario. It was quiet, a lot of sites have good privacy. The two beaches are small. Good enough to cool off though. It was a very quiet park when I stayed. It is 1km from the town of Temagami so if you want internet go park by the library and use the wifi and if you need gas and groceries it's all there. LCBO too. There are great hiking trails near town. A very cool fire tower you can climb and see beautiful views of the area. This, I'm guessing due to covid same sites are not operational so it is even quieter than normal. Site 72 is where I stayed. Private, close to vault toilet. Only has some morning shade, rest of the day direct sunlight till dusk. I'm heading back next weekend and I'm hoping for safe hiking, cold nights and clear skies.

Very clean and beautiful park! Spent our first time camping here and absolutely loved it. We stayed in lot 40 and loved the elevated camping lot - highly suggest when going to book check out what the lot looks like before purchasing as some can be small/close to neighbors/not very private/or not have a picnic bench (most come with a picnic bench and all come with a fire pit). The staff were super courteous and throughout the park I had 4-5 bars of LTE phone signal strength. Make sure you bring everything you need (water, food, soap) as the town is quite small and the next big city is over an hour away. As well the beaches are tiny and no trails so it can get a little bit boring if you don't like to fish or boat. Don't forget to bring your provincial park passport to get the sticker for Temagami!
