Stay at site 206. I just want to say, this place is amazing. Do not let the name fool you. Such an low key undetected Ontario Park. The drive up Hwy 11 is gorgeous, just a wonderful view. Stayed here for the Labour Day weekend. Unfortunately it was cold most days 10°- 16°. Explored the 4km trail was an incredible walk, family loved it. The view of the Marten River is pretty spectacular! The campsite is pretty decent lots of privacy, lots of trees around couldn't really hear our neighborhoods they couldnt hear us, always a plus for me! You need to book an reservation for 2021! The staff was amazing, they helped me out in more ways then I can count which I will always be grateful for that. I will 100 percent be coming back earlier in 2021. The only drawback is how far town is, you need to go to North Bay to get supplies. They do have a small shop next door that as alot of everything; beer, liquor, food, camping gear, propane etc. But prices are steep, but it is nice and convenient if needed. 5 Star!

Just finished up week campout with some family, and its a very pretty 4 1/2 drive up from where we live. Additionally, its a pretty park with lots of old growth which is always something neat to see in parks. Lots of lakes around to canoe on and go fishing in, the campground beaches are quite busy, as well as grassy/marshy, but the day use beach was better. Not a very quiet park since there is a lot of boat activity and the highway close to the park. Dog beach was small and out of the way from the majority of the park. The hiking trail was a breath of fresh air and was very nice to walk in, though the transition trail (the longest trail) seemed to he quite overgrown, to which I was touching lots of foliage for around 1km. One issue I had was when I was having a conversation with a few family members at one of our sites one night and was interrupted by the warden telling us that we were “disturbing the peace” or something similar. I would understand if we were being loud or were intoxicated, but we weren’t. In 17 years of camping experience, the volume we were at would have been fine at any other park. Staff clean all washrooms and facilities several times throughout the day which is quite respectful, and are friendly as well. Overall, I may not come back simply bc of the noise and the bitter experience we had with noise level. But if you don’t mind much noise, this is the park for you

This park was alright. There’s a hiking trail, which is broken up into 3 trails of varying lengths, but it’s still all the same trail. The store is small and only offers clothes and a few trinkets. The park wardens were a little intense and kind of off putting. The fishing from land is impossible and I don’t recommend that at all. Everything is really spread out and you have to drive to where you want to go or walk a very long distance to get anywhere. The loggers village museum was totally cool and is an absolute must. It’s only open for 2 hours a day, so make sure you check that out while there. The park wasn’t busy in July which made it better. The sites are see through, so while they are spread out, you can see your neighbours through the bushes. The sound of the highway was present but not overly annoying. Motor boats speed through the river constantly and I could hear that more than the highway rumble. I saw no martens. This wasn’t my favourite provincial park but I would return.

Very beautiful park, kept clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful but it’s so close to such a busy highway it’s very loud! Lots of boat traffic on the water too so overall it’s not a very restful spot. Trails are great, loved seeing so much old growth pine and hearing the birds. Great kayaking, lots of beaver lodges to see at a distance and a dam you can go around. Not a lot of privacy between sites however, which can be hit or miss depending on the site and park. Lots of showers that are clean and water is nice and hot. The beaches were super busy and packed with people so we tended to stay away and use more private launch spots/ day use area for swimming because there was more space and not as many people/boats. Cute playground area my son really enjoyed with horseshoes etc. The pet beach is mostly a marsh, it’s very overgrown with weeds and so tiny! Overall I won’t come back just based on the noise, and it’s a small park so if you do everything once you’re good.

We had a wonderful weekend at this park. It is a very well maintained park with all the amenities, however all the amenities were quite a bit of a walk from our camp site. But we certainly enjoyed our walks in lush green park. Beaches are too tiny so you can’t have that beach fun there but you can definitely sit or lay down for a bit. We spent our time boating and it was absolute pleasure. The river is perfect for hobbiest paddlers with none to intermediate experience. There is literally no food place nearby (50-60km), so load up accordingly. Well there is a local coffee shop across the street but was shut when we were there so can’t say how it was. And there is also a gas station and LCBO in the same complex as coffee store. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend.

Some harsh reviews of this PP, but we found it to be a great place and will be back next season. Spots were very private, and the spot we reserved on line was exactly as shown and handled our 30' motorhome with ease. The park was very dog friendly and I would suggest 100% of the time dogs were under control and never overly noisy. The park office was clean and there were more than enough staff patrolling the roadways. Only negative thing I can say is not against the park or staff, I would be against the campers. Slow down to the designated speed in the campground. You never know what's around that corner. Other than that, be back next year.
