I finally had the chance to check out the spa on a recent visit. As a spa, their main priority is to encourage relaxation and tranquility. And by and large, they absolutely accomplished that. The grounds were very tranquil and even just the visual of the warm spa waters evaporating into the cool winter air was already enough to stimulate relaxation, even prior to checking in. I was visiting the spa with my mother, who was excited to relax after a tumultuous few weeks of knee replacement recovery. The rules of the spa were made very clear everywhere on the grounds. The biggest rule being that the spa "honours quiet". So much so that the spa has staff wander around the grounds continuously spying for anyone having a conversation that goes even one fraction of a decibel higher than a whisper. Generally, the staff were very kind about enforcing this. Giving a gentle "shhh" with an accompanying finger to the mouth mannerism and a polite hushed verbal reminder to remain quiet. We were given one during the course of our stay, and witnessed other groups given some too. It's easy enough to do, especially around louder areas like the waterfall, and as previously mentioned the staff were fairly kind about it. The reason I hesitate to give my visit 5 stars, is primarily due to 1 particular employee who definitely took his badge as part of the quiet-police a bit too far. We were walking from 1 pool to another, and we weren't even talking. So imagine our surprise when an employee runs up to us from behind and tells us, quite rudely: "the rules are to be quiet so don't be too loud". We were stunned, and confused. We just looked at each other and laughed and I said "we weren't even talking". To which the employee, now a good 10 meters away, shouts back to us "I can hear you from here. That means you're being too loud!" ...Yeah, because nothing encourages your point of remaining quiet so as not to disturb the other guests as now being THE person that is, in fact, being too loud and disturbing the other guests! Right? So that was an unfortunate way to end our day since we had had such a relaxing time, and were now ending our day being annoyed at being falsely disciplined. And in such a rude uncalled for way at that. And truly, everyone else that worked there was very kind in enforcing the rules. But not that one employee, that's for sure! I have to say, personally, I think the quiet rule could use some loosening. I completely understand that the spa wants to promote quiet... But I think it should be to an extent. Most of the people receiving shushes weren't even being loud or disregarding of others in the vicinity with their conversations. And you certainly can't hear most conversations with the waterfall noise surrounding the atmosphere of the spa anyways. And ironically, having the "quiet police" wandering around the grounds is a little discomforting since you're on edge wondering who they're going after, and if they're about to come up to you. Which is the antithesis of what the spa is trying to promote - relaxation and tranquility. And having them come up to you unprovoked, like we did, is pretty darn NOT relaxing LOL. But besides that complaint, we absolutely adored the few hours we spent here. The grounds are very clean and tidy and the amenities on site are wonderful. The "Scandinave Bliss" tea is to die for and we definitely went back for a few cups of it in between our various cycles of relaxation in between the hot and cold pools. I found that the 39 Celsius pools were absolutely perfect. The 40 degree pool, despite being just ONE degree warmer, was too hot. Definitely a Goldilocks experience one goes on between the various areas! The house coat is worth its weight in gold once you're there. Definitely worth the extra expense to rent one! The only other suggestion i'd make to the spa, is to install some bathing suit dryers in the changerooms. Just so you can transport your swimwear back without it being soaking wet. We will absolutely be back to the spa. We had a wonderful experience (minus the one incident lol).

A Tranquil Haven of Relaxation and Rejuvenation

My wife and I recently visited Scandinave Spa Blue Mountain, and it was an absolute oasis of tranquility. From start to finish, our experience was nothing short of exceptional.

Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by the friendly staff who made us feel welcome and provided us with all the necessary information to ensure a seamless visit. The spa's serene and picturesque setting amidst the Blue Mountain region instantly transported us to a world of calmness and serenity.

The highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the hydrotherapy experience. We indulged in the various hot and cold baths, each offering its own unique therapeutic benefits. The contrast between the soothing hot baths and the invigorating cold plunges was truly rejuvenating for both our bodies and minds. The serene ambiance enhanced the experience, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the moment and leave behind the stresses of everyday life.

We also explored the sauna and steam rooms, which were impeccably maintained and provided a much-needed detoxifying experience. The aromatic scents and the gentle heat enveloped us, promoting a deep sense of relaxation and cleansing. It was a perfect opportunity for us to unwind and reconnect with each other in a tranquil and intimate environment.

The relaxation areas at Scandinave Spa were thoughtfully designed, offering cozy nooks and comfortable loungers where we could unwind and enjoy moments of quiet contemplation. The stunning views of the surrounding nature only added to the overall ambiance, creating a truly immersive experience.

The professionalism and expertise of the spa therapists were evident throughout our visit. We opted for a couples' massage, and it was an absolute delight. The therapists were attentive, ensuring our comfort and tailoring the treatment to our specific needs. The combination of skillful techniques and the soothing atmosphere left us feeling refreshed and revitalized.

The facilities at Scandinave Spa Blue Mountain were immaculate, and the attention to detail was remarkable. Everything from the cleanliness of the baths and facilities to the quality of the provided amenities showcased their commitment to providing a top-notch experience for their guests.

Overall, our visit to Scandinave Spa Blue Mountain was an unforgettable experience. It was a sanctuary of relaxation and rejuvenation that allowed us to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and truly unwind. We highly recommend this spa to anyone seeking a peaceful and indulgent getaway. Our sincerest thanks to the entire staff for creating such a blissful retreat, and we cannot wait to return for another memorable visit in the...

Update: decided to give it one more try this weekend because of proximity to blue mountain and apparently its gotten even worse a) the change rooms were so dirty (actual garbage on the floor and not one cleaning staff in sight) and because this place doesnt care about the guest experience only care about the laziness of their staff they refuse to put hampers for wet towels/robes to make it convenient for guests to return them so theres just piles of dirty robes and towels everywhere because understandably people dont want to carry wet dirty stuff upstairs after showering and changing. B) the customer service is even worse than last year-they refused to change out my robe rental after someone dropped it on the ground in a pool of water meaning i had to wear a soaking dirty robe in -25 degree weather. First of all how ghetto to even charge for a robe to begin with but second of all how crappy can your service get - even if it is a policy that you didnt communicate at the time of renting the robe at least accommodate the unforeseen circumstance C) instead of having cleaning staff like every other spa their staff simply stand around like hall monitors policing the silence rules meanwhile the facilities get grosser and grosser through out the day. Wellness begins with cleanliness and hygiene but clearly this place missed the memo. As they did on the definition of hospitality. Perhaps they need to take a group trip to Nordik spas to learn more about basic customer service. Alternatively adjust your pricing to be significantly lower than your competitors to accurately set out the experience expectations of your chain. And why are you asking me to email you with my contact info when you have my contact info from my booking and the waiver i signed? If your manager wants to take accountability for the shortcomings resulting from their managing they can reach out, its not exactly rocket science.

2024-The spa is nice but definitely needs to upgrade a few things; first and foremost food - the selection and quality of the food available for purchase is horrendous and embarrassing. Secondly, the showers and change rooms need to be updated and the lockers fixed- the bracelets and lockers seem to malfunction a lot. Third, the customer service can definitely be improved to reflect the spa “values” they have posted all over the place - not only is it super unpleasant that they have workers posted up around the facilities staring at the customers and policing them but the blond/colourful hair lady at reception was extremely rude and unpleasant when fixing my broken locker with all my stuff in it. One would think she’d be polite and apologetic in light of the inconvenience as opposed to...
