So supposedly there are rumors that indicate this light house is home to a ghostly presence. The only thing my daughter and witnessed is a mosquito bite she got while walking down the path to get to this landmark. All in all this monument is really nice. It's a 15min walk west from Center Island beach. Lots of people were walking, biking, jogging and we even saw a small group of children who were on a day camp excursion. Beautiful trees which provided lots of shade to protect you from the sun but the weather was perfect that day with a nice cool breeze and it was not too hot or humid. Lots to discover at Center Island and it will be nice to come back to view the beautiful sun set in the evening.

If you are up for a long and relaxing walk among the beach and through the islands- this place is for you. We also rented a bike cart for 4 people and had a great experience. On the weekend of course it's busy - better get water and snacks with you. We will be back definitely for a family bbq, as here is a lot of space for any activity.

If you're on Centre Island, it's a good excuse to briefly stop walking and take a couple pictures! We weren't expecting to encounter it on our walk. It's a nice bit of architecture that isn't too far from the main beaches. Just keep in mind it's a lighthouse. It isn't like the CN Tower or something.

This is a cool lighthouse, when we went the way to get to it was flooded but if your up to some we socks and soggy shoes for a few hours you can get some really nice pictures! There is a little slab that describes why it stands and how long it’s been there. I won’t give it away ;-)

The lighthouse seems like it's coming from a Tim Burton movie. It is so odd to see a lighthouse in the middle of the swamp. It reminds us that our planet is ever changing and sometimes it moves faster than us humans. Take a shot there on your way to a walk around the islands.

Walked nearly a hour to visit this cool piece of history it was awesome not gonna lie. However I made the rookie mistake coming during the winter so the bike rentals and food areas were closed and the ferry directly to Hanlan’s Island so I walked from Wards Island to here.
