Great undeveloped areas for the exploring .Paddlers can launch from the small park at Arner Rd near the bridge , or from Cedar Beach .I take my small aluminum boat up the creek past the Greenway Trail bridge and use a chainsaw and axe to clear fallen trees and branches from blocking access to the picturesque upstream sections .There are beavers active near this bridge , where an observer can see large trees with chewed out areas on the creek side of the trees , and I have seen beavers in the water here . About halfway between Arner and Cedar Beach , on the north side of Cedar Creek , on a slight bulge of land known as "Prospect Point " ,there's a special treat for a patient observer .Paddling east from Arner ,where the creek makes a 25 degree bend to southeast ,there are 4 ancient native Indian fire pit depressions that have been identified as authentic and have been surveyed by archaeologists .They're laid out in large arc , which roughly follows the shoreline contour .You'll know you found the right place if there is a small clearing with a wrecked wooden outhouse .The shallow earthen pits are about 60 yds east of the clearing ....
Read moreGreat spot to launch the Kayaks for an afternoon on the Creek. My wife and I spent 5 hours out there and came back burnt to a crisp from the sun but it was well worth it. We paddled all the way to the inlet from the lake and the views and water was amazing.
This conservation area has hiking trails and a picnic area but it is not really for these activities. Cedar Creek Conservation Area really shines as a water sports spot. The dock is a standard dock, just a flat platform out on the water, so make sure you stretch before getting onto your craft, but the current is calm and the wildlife along the shore is beautiful.

I needed an electric bbq grill as only allowed on my balcony ! I checked on line and the Chatham Store has the exact one I wanted ! I printed my bbq and went to Canadian Tire and they actually had it in stock as it was quick and easy and very pleasant at Customer Service Counter!
